Condemned on PC in March?

SEGA confirms date.

Oops, here's one we missed last week: SEGA's German website has word that Xbox 360 shooter Condemned: Criminal Origins will be released on PC on March 31st.

To our knowledge, SEGA hasn't previously confirmed a PC version of Monolith's game, which is about hunting down serial killers and using forensic knick-knacks on their victims, so that's good news.

"One of the most-talked-about games of the last weeks is coming to PC in March. SEGA will publish the uncensored original version of Condemned," says the news post.

A SEGA Europe spokesman this morning confirmed that the game's down for release in Europe on March 31st, at least at the moment.

In the meantime, you can find our review of the Xbox 360 version elsewhere in linkland.

So, uh, "The uncensored version".. Is that just the same version I'm playing on my X360, or is it uncensored _compared_ to that version?

It's "uncensored" as in "let's find a new way to make PC owners rush out and buy what is really just a console port"!!!

Since the announcement comes from the German SEGA branch and Germans are used to have their games censored one way or the other, maybe they wanted to clarify that this wasn't the case here... Just a thought...

    That would make sense.

I can't help but think that Condemned is too simplistic for PC owners who'll be expecting something with more depth.

Don't get me wrong though, I've got the game and it's excellent and very atmospheric but it's not as interactive as I thought it'd be, it's pretty linear and the crime scene investigation parts of the game amount to following a few onscreen prompts as you cannot use the equipment unless you need to. There's no real puzzle solving involved which is a bit disappointing.

Wow, so, that leaves only three 360 launch games (the RARE games and PGR3) that are exclusives and not available cheaper on another paltform?

Xbox exclusives seldom turn out to be.

@Wonga: You had a good couple of arguments there, until: "And PC gaming sucks dont forget that."

Opinions will rarely win a argument, especially when theres nothing mentioned to back up that opinion.

on the flipside, when are we gonna get FEAR on 360? even though my pc is up to scratch, it runs it with a wide variety of sound and grafics bugs, and won't update to the latest version because the servers are always pinged out. oh, the joys of pc gaming.

PC Gaming is becoming irrelevant? Oh man, if that isn't the most blinkered coment I've heard today. Its the Xbox 360 at the moment which is pretty irrelevant, are any of the games must haves? Is it really worth getting it at the moment?
