After seeing the MGS 3 Snake Eater demo on Kotaku, we're talking portable PS2/GC quality here, moreso than even the PSP (which was more DC quality visuals). Exciting times, but expect many PS2/GC gen ports.

Good list, new bloodrayne is the first genuine surprise of the show for me but a lot of appealing sounding *titles* there.

Why didn't Nintendo announce Paper Mario and Animal Crossing onstage!?

Yeah it does look like PS2 quality graphics and from the list you can already see that companies are looking to port over PS2 era games.

I might have the go to the EG Expo if that have one there.

    Starfox 64 3D?!?!?!

If this is a buffed up port of the original I'll wet myself - that's all it needs to be! Paper Mario, Kid Icarus and Mario Kart(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) will all be ace as well.

Of the third parties... Even though it comes out for everything, Super Monkey Ball ought to be quite cool on this, and Capcom's efforts + Professor Layton I'm sure will all be worth purchasing too.

I see Pac Man up there, but I'm not holding out hope that it's any more than just a dull port of the original arcade version... again.

I hope this comes out this year. I very much doubt it will, but I hope it does. GADGE OF THE YEAR!

What I don't understand, is why Nintendo just didn't put that list on the big screen, in list if not video form. That would have sealed the show for them. Instead we get too much motormouth Reggie. Weird.

    Pilotwings :D

If they could nail down a release/price(ish) this would be perfect but i can see this going down a storm if the initial impressions from the units are positive. I can't see if being that far off either if they have THAT many units already produced too

Good times :) well done N!

OOOOoooooh Pilotwings, star fox, mariokart street fighter??? Sounds like some advanced graphic software right there!
  • Waffleaber #13 2 years ago

Now this I like. It's always said that software sells systems and from that list I can easily pick a dozen that make it onto my must-have list on the strength of their predecessors alone.

Star Fox 64 - hell yes. Can't remember how often I played through that one. What an awesome game.

Pilot Wings has me interested.. BUT i'm hearing show reports that "When it works it is unbelievable" and when it doesn't work it's like being bossed-eyed.. I don't want to be forced into sitting a certain way to view a screen. the 'sweet spot' may not be my ideal viewing/playing position.

Price... I'm guessing.. £169-199 price point.

Great list, plus Starfox's gfx look heavily upgraded...

For some reason, I think that Nintendo's submarine game (Steel Diver) could be a sleeper...

The streetfighter 4 screens look INCREDIBLE!
  • Dudeofmanynames #21 2 years ago

i Hope they don't go crazy with the PS2/GC ports but I would love a Metroid Prime port:p IF they added a few cool things more than the original
  • irrelevanthuman #22 2 years ago

Pilot Wings,Starfox and Ocarina?!Essential purchases-in 2 or 3D,can't wait to play them again on the 3DS.
  • Raiko101 #23 2 years ago

If that was a launch line-up, it would be the best ever, by a complete mile. As it is, i'm still sold. I've never had such a list of games i've wanted to get for a console that hasn't yet been released. I wish I was rich!
  • Paulie_P #24 2 years ago

Can anybody tell me the point of dj hero in 3D?
  • kinky_mong #25 2 years ago

I think I may have just jizzed myself dry upon seeing a 3D remake of Starfox 64 and Ocarina of Time. Excuse while I clean up.

Atlus - Etrian Odyssey, Shin Megami Tensei, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor

UWAAAAAH!!! More Etrian Odyssey and Persona! That would sell the system to me, even if it was just a regular DS with holographic stickers on.
