Madden NFL Arcade on XBLA this week

1200 MSP for five-on-five blitzer.

Madden NFL Arcade will be release on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow, 25th November, for 1200 Microsoft Points (£10.20 / €14.40).

The game is another arcade-orientated spin-off from a successful EA Sports franchise, this time presenting five-on-five American football with all 32 NFL teams available.

EA's last effort in this area was an ice hockey game, 3 on 3 Arcade.

Check out our Madden NFL Arcade screenshot gallery to get an idea of what to expect tomorrow.

There's no immediate word on the PS3 version's release plans, but we wouldn't be surprised to see it on the PlayStation Store in this Thursday's update.

    Good idea, actually...

I like the cut-and-thrust of US "Football" - but the stop-start nature of the sport and the tactics that I can't be bothered to decipher are a barrier to entry (even though a videogame can alleviate these concerns)...

sold. Madden 10 was fantastic, and with the 5v5 game i might actually get some of my friends (who aren't very much into american football) to join in.

Hopefully it won't have those horrific Menu sound effects that were in the 3v3 Hockey game.

I happen to like those 'horrific' menu sound effects! Loved the ridiculous black metal soundtrack on NHL 3v3 too.

Anyway, i'd imagine i'll be getting this.

    @ BillMurray

Oh I loved the soundtrack. But that "WHOOSH" "WHISH" "SWOOSH" every other second made me want to skin kittens.

Oh Mr Ambassador with these prices you really are spoiling us.

    Not.

I'd rather have a remake of Brutal Sports Football for XBLA/PSN.

cianchristopher: 100% agree. One minute, you're running for your life from a bunch of panzer gorillas, the next you're playing some obscure game of chess.

COD classic is next week, then hopefully Perfect Dark before christmas, or at least Alien Breed.

I'm not sure, I prefer a 'jazzed up' version of a proper sports game (like what Blitz is to Madden, or what The Bigs is to MLB2k9) rather than these. If you're going to go really crazy then yeah, do a new Mutant Sports game.
