LittleBigPlanet coming to PSP
Along with new MotorStorm and Buzz!
Sony has announced a trio of big-name titles coming to PSP.
First up is a new portable version of LittleBigPlanet, which "allows players to create their own levels and share them with the community". Just like the PS3 version, then.
A new instalment in Sony's popular quiz game series is also on the way. Buzz! Brain of the UK will see gameshow host Buzz "searching for the smartest people in the country".
Little else is known about those two, other than the fact they're both out this year. However, Sony had plenty to say about MotorStorm Arctic Edge. This one's in development for both PSP and PS2, and both versions are down for an autumn release.
MotorStorm Arctic Edge is set in Alaska so you'll have to cope with plummeting temperatures, sudden avalanches and broken ice bridges. There are three different racing altitudes to make things tricky, too.
The good news is you get two new vehicles - the Snowcat, which can blast through packed snow, and the Snow Machine, which never loses its grip. Plus you can customise your vehicles with different wheels, exhausts, spoilers and stickers, and even create your own liveries.
On top of all this, MotorStorm Arctic Edge for PSP will have an Ad Hoc mode for wireless races between up to eight players. There's also an Infrastructure Mode for online play.

"LittleBigPlanet---

New SackBoy adventures with the same play, create, share experience for gamers on-the-go
Brand new levels and environments specifically created for the platform"
So THAT'S what Sony Cambridge have been up to.

(Seriously, my future brother in law got a PS3 for christmas, and spent most of new year's day showing me and the fiancee's family all the 9/11 levels. Some of them are laughably crap, but there was a one that actually ended with islamic heaven with the however-many virgins - who'd have thought heaven would make a good platformer? lol)

I don't see any harm in having mini-counterparts to some of the bigger titles on the PS3, being developed (and slightly tweaked) for the PSP, or even the PS2.
One thing the blogs on here have ignored (although quite understandably, after being hit with a whammy of unprecedented PSP title announcements) is the PS2 version of MotorStorm.
I know what you're thinking but in my opinion, I don't see anything wrong with the PS2. I own a PS2 and PSP (not PS3 - sorry, Sony, but you haven't convinced me yet) and I'm a loyal PlayStation fan and I'm still enjoying my PS2, especially now because so many titles are so cheap.
So, it's nice to see that a modern developed IP is being retro-fitted onto the PS2 but also being ported to the PSP. Right now, I and I'm sure many PSP owners are not too concerned that these could potentially be viewed as 'ports' of their bigger brothers from the PS3. It does not matter, because the PSP is getting a bit of attention and that's all very important.
I tell you one thing though, Sony needs to be making such announcements AT LEAST once every two months, in order to keep PSP fans loyal, so not to neglect the little machine and disenchant/deter potential new buyers.
Please Sony, do not screw up these announcements and delay these releases until next year!!!
