Interplay readying fresh website News

PC Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 MMO
News by Robert Purchese

12 March, 2008

Interplay has popped a placeholder image on its old website that promises a fresh design is "coming soon".

This comes as the US publisher prepares to reopen its internal development studio in an effort to breathe life back into some of its old properties.

Pictures on the website highlight show IP such as MDK, Earthworm Jim, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Descent and the previously announced Fallout MMO.

Bethesda bought the rights to Fallout last April, helping to reduce Interplay's debts from around USD 59 million to 3 million. Interplay is now a licensee of the property.

Pop over to the Interplay website for a little excitement.

Except Clayfighters had an actual game stapled to it.

You can't say that about Rise of the Robots.

Descent was brilliant. A xbla version and a sequel would be most welcome.

Freespace please. I want to know what the frak the aliens were upto, when they detonated a sun at the end of the last one! Come on tell me. They effectively banned humanity from their area of space with the threat of total extinction. We on the other hand figured out how to kill them effectively too......what happened next....tell me!

Edit: Just saw the website and remembered Murder Death Kill (MDK). That was an amazing game with the sniping from miles away and the glide suit that the hero wore. The dog in the bomber :) awe they have to make another one of those. It would be just what the first/third person shooter genre needs. A comedy game with style.

Yeah R&R2 was on the PSOne... not 100% sure it was Interplay though... Good game, 7/10, not as good as the original was at it's time.
