Help test Facebook and Twitter on 360
Another Xbox Live preview programme.
Microsoft is inviting people to help test the Xbox Live update that introduces Facebook and Twitter support.
All you have to do is visit the sign-up site and fill in your details, which include your console ID and serial number.
Microsoft is seeking "multiple thousands of participants" according to Major Nelson, and the programme is open to people in any region that supports Live, with Gold members given preference, though not to the exclusion of Silver users.
According to a leak over the weekend, Microsoft plans to roll the update out for everyone on 17th November, although we still await confirmation.

I'm looking forward to all of these additions myself, last.fm will be good for sticking music on when I have friends over while facebook on 360 by all acconts is a great way of showing photo's and stuff full screen when I need to.

"I think a console should stay a console. Pop in a game disc and play"
I don't see much point in having Facebook on a console, but I don't see anything wrong in having extra features on a console either. Someone will ultimately find it useful.
I do think having YouTube integration (PS3) is good, but only if it allows you to capture gameplay videos and upload to YT - that way, you can share or provide help/guidance to other players who may be stuck in a particular section. This is a very important thing for me, as it saves me having to get up from my PS3/360, go to my computer, and have to search online for help
