Guess the plot for Banjo-Kazooie 3

Rare presents five rumours, one is true.

Rare has decided to let you guess at the plot in upcoming title Banjo-Kazooie 3.

This special April treat is not a joke, apparently. There are five rumours on the website, one of which is true.

So, will it be Banjo falling in love with Grunty as the pair battle a new threat, or Banjo journeying into space to find an alien-abducted Kazooie?

Perhaps it is Banjo and Kazooie going back in time after a witch's giant T.I.T., or Banjo coming out of retirement to stop his home being turned into a supermarket?

Or could it be Banjo becoming a reluctant leader as war comes to Spiral Mountain?

Our money is on Grunty driving her time machine back in time to before the bear and bird met, prompting fresh introductions and a re-learning of all the tag-team skills.

Pop over to the Rare website to get guessing.

Banjo-Kazooie 3 will be out on Xbox 360 this Christmas.

    Banjo Kazooie Galaxy?

"Perhaps it is Banjo and Kazooie going back in time after a witch's giant T.I.T"

Yeah, I'd go with that one, as well. Then again, they've said before that BK3 won't be a traditional platformer, which gives merit to the War theory (although that one seems too obvious to me, and smells of herring, so I stick with the theory of BK's time travelling.)
  • Monkey_Puncher #3 4 years ago

Yeah, I'll go with the witches tits

Given that rare stole most of the first two games' best ideas from Mario 64, I'm imagining the space setting seems most likely... Really, is anyone *that* excited about this given the quality of Rare's recent output... it's not as if the first two games were that awe inspiring.

Game company in "We couldn't make up our minds so we we let you decide" shocker. :p
  • captainrentboy #6 4 years ago

MoGamer that question and all possible answers was covered in explicit detail in the last Banjo 3 comments section.
The outcome was that yes there are some folk looking forward to it, and that was mostly based on the fun they had with both Kameo and Viva Pinata.
Let's not all start the fussin' an'a fightin' up again huh?

@captainrentboy - Didn't see that 'debate' so I wasn't trying to start anything up again, just commenting... that's what these forums are for, right?

@Xerx3s - From your tone I assume you've taken my comments as fanboy trolling. Please note that I didn't say that the BK franchise was shit, just derivative and less than stellar. If you wish to argue against that, please do!

Brill, I wonder who would take Banjo as a leader? I didn't see him as a military leader material.
  • bengray66 #11 4 years ago

MoGamer2006, The first Banjo game was just plain superb.... I much preferred it to mario 64. Don't get me wrong, i loved mario 64, but BK was a much better, more solid game. In fact i actually still play BK to this day (that and goldeneye, only 2 games i still own)

The swamp level, and the beachy level are just superb game design.

And also, rare of late, PD was shit, but Viva Pinata was a pretty decent game to be fair.
  • captainrentboy #12 4 years ago

Mogamer, I didn't say you were starting anything up or that you were trolling.
Just trying to avoid yet another massive and boring argument/discussion breaking out about whether or not people should be allowed to look forward to a particular game, that's all.
  • captainrentboy #13 4 years ago

Ohhh and back on topic, it's got to be the witch's T.I.T one, the others sound bloody awful.
  • Darren #14 4 years ago

I reckon, or rather hope, it's Rumour Three: Banjo and Kazooie travel back through time in pursuit of the witch's giant T.I.T. as it sounds funny and rather cool. However, the space-bound alien-themed Rumour Two sounds just as likely although it would be accused of coping Super Mario Galaxy.
  • oceanmotion #15 4 years ago

I would go with the back in time after a witch's giant T.I.T one for reasons Eurogamer mentioned. Looking forward to this.
  • BadBoyBonner #16 4 years ago

Supermarket one seems the most likely for me. Funny British humour - and it's the one that tells you the least about the game, making it a good candidate.

And I bet all you Nintentards will cry a fucking river when it turns out to be better than Mario Galaxy. Which was over rated shit by the way, I've got it here and can't even be bothered to finish it.

Rare are not in camp Nintendo anymore, get the fuck over it already.

Although I wouldn't have put it quite like that I do wonder what all the fuss was about with regards to SMG. I've got a few hours into it and I can't be bothered to go back to it. Mehness all the way for me. It's just not my bag I suppose.

Swearing's great, isn't it? Almost makes you feel like a man. Almost.
  • WinterSnowblind #22 4 years ago

Mario Galaxy is easily one of the best games released this decade.
However, I agree on your other point. The majority of people whining about Rare these days seem to be jealous fanboys. Let it go already.
  • J.C #23 4 years ago

Ah banjo kazooie, great game. the missus loved it all those years ago. and if this got a release on the wii, she would buy it in a heart beat. but my 360? she hates it! she wouldn't even play the viva pinata demo. i wont buy banjo, im to old for that shit now. the new aliens game will do me thx!
  • Darren #24 4 years ago

I was just thinking how cool it would be if Rare did use the time-travelling plot... you could have Banjo and Kazooie going back to 1996 and the game could look like the N64 version with the pair having to avoid changing the time line by not bumping into their earlier selves who are obviously completing the first two games! :D
  • Muddtallica #25 4 years ago

DNick: Ah, the old "I didn't like it, therefore it was shit" gambit. Never quite understood why that's such a popular argumentative approach, given how laughably worthless it is.

As for these plotlines, I am actually rather intrigued to see which one it is. I doubt that it's choices one, two or three, myself - the "falling in love with Gruntilda" one is too out there; the outer space one might have been feasible if not for Mario Galaxy; the time travel one sounds solid, but oversteps the mark with the "witch's giant TIT" part. I was leaning towards the war one until I saw the part about it being an RTS-platformer hybrid, so my vote goes to the "worlds of the imagination" one; sounds like a tried-and-tested concept, but with the opportunity for a few Rare twists.

I will be monitoring the progress of this one. I haven't taken a huge amount of interest in Rare since the late N64 days, and I felt that the Banjo-Kazooie formula, whilst refreshing at the time, was somewhat driven into the ground by subsequent games (particularly the heinous Donkey Kong 64); on the other hand, Rare are a rather different company now, in terms of stature, personnel and attitude, and it'll be very interesting to see what approach today's Rare take with this old-school property. We'll just have to hope for something better than PDZero.

    Banjo-Kazooie is doomed without Blu-Ray.

Banjo Kazooie going back in time to stop Grunty's T.I.T is my guess!

OR Banjo teams up with Grunty, but it wouldn't be set in space (to Mario Galaxy)! So, perhaps not...
  • captainrentboy #29 4 years ago

Darren you just blew my mind with that suggestion :)
Although the whole scenario would probably go over anyone's head that hadn't played the other two.

"I bet all the XBOTS in the world buy this and make it a hit. "

OMG! All the SDF will buy Killzone, MGS4, R2, etc. and make those hits! It's t3h suck!

Oh please, do go outside a bit more often.

    "THEN WHY'D U BUY A PS3 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL"

I figured that someone would come up with a witty remark such as that! :p

After my third xbox 360 died i decided to have a change. I got it repaired then traded it for a PS3. The missus wanted a blu-ray player and i wanted MGS4 (amongst others). I also live in hope of another Suikoden (which will probably fuck off to 360 now i've said that!) I'm not ruling out another 360 in the distant future, but in the meantime the PS3 suits me just fine.
