Fable 2 looking likely for October
Molyneux suggests so in new video.
A new developer diary for Xbox 360 exclusive Fable 2 has offered a strong hint the game will be released in October.
The video is now showing over on Eurogamer TV. About a minute in, Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux is shown drawing a box round the word "OCTOBER" in a notebook.
Molyneux has previously told us to expect the game towards the end of the year, "when the leaves have a slight brownish tinge - but are still on the trees, if you see what I mean".
Microsoft has been putting the game down for a "holiday" release, but seeing as Thanksgiving means Americans start their holiday season in November, October seems to fit.
Lionhead's official spokesperson declined to comment on the video, but then she's a lot better at keeping secrets than Peter Molyneux.

P.S. did anyone notice in the shot at 1:38, someone hidden by an office divider was playing with the ghostbusters car, making it drive along in the background? made me laugh.

You say that as if tweaking and bug testing is a quick or simple process.
"The first date they announced for it was October, and it made that date."
Err, its not out yet. Neither is it October yet.

With 3-4 months to go that shouldn't be a problem.

Fair enough on your first point there, but I believe WinterSnowBlind was referring to Fable 1 with their announcement and release date... Perhaps you were a little blinded when reading his post?
I hope he's right though, can't wait to play this game! It has been confirmed to be co-op over Live now hasn't it? I know it's definately co-op, I just remember that they never specified whether that was online too though. God, I hope it is, would make it FAR more enjoyable.
If it is, the first thing I'm gonna do when I visit a friends world is to seduce their wife... or their teenage daughter maybe! Boring just killing em straight off, better to make my friend kill his own wife, after causing them to have a major domestic! ^_^

That may or may not be true, but given it was aiming for the Xbox's launch and turned up about two years later, I imagine that probably counts as something of a delay, official release date or not.
Anyway, I don't expect this will be out on time. Lionhead games are always delayed. I reckon next March.

I can assure you that's true.
And they haven't annouced if it supports Live play yet, unlike with the original, they're only talking about/showing features that are already finished and in the game. They aren't going to promise Live play if it's not going to make it.

The first Fable was an excellent game, disappointing, in regards to the hype, but ignoring that, it was a lot of fun, very inventive and almost totally unique. If Fable 2 was just a bigger version of the original, it would still be great, but the fact they're also delivering on pretty much every promise that was made for the first just makes it that much better.

And yeah, I'm agreeing with WinterSnowblind on the Fable 1 point again. It was only disappointing because Molyneux hyped it up so much it could never live up to our expections, disregarding the hype though it was still a brilliantly innovative and original game.
