The Cyberathlete Professional League has unveiled a new FPS for PC and consoles, scheduled to appear before the end of 2007.
Project "Severity" will be built specifically with multipayer gaming in mind, focusing on both team-versus-team, and one-versus-one matches.
The CPL has already secured the talents of former Ritual Entertainment studio director, Tom Mustaine. "Severity will be the first videogame conceived from the ground up to ensure the growth and appeal of multiplayer game competitions worldwide," he believes, speaking as the new Director of Game Development for the title.
The Cyberathletes believe their practical experience and enthusiastic community, coupled with the unspecified id Software technology that the game will be built on, will allow them to set new standards for competitive multiplayer games. Competitive talk.
The CPL is an electronic league that was founded in 1997 and is gathering steam in its glorious vision of video games as a professional sport.
