Borderlands GOTY Edition spotted
Due out in September but not on PS3.
US mega-retailer GameStop has listed a strategy guide for a Game of the Year Edition of Borderlands.
Such a product has not been announced by 2K.
Guides are listed for PC and Xbox 360 but not PS3. Their release date: 7th September 2010.
That 2K would offer a Borderlands SKU containing the excellent add-on content released so far makes perfect sense.
Nevertheless, a GOTY Edition remains, for the moment, unconfirmed.
Borderlands has welcomed three bouts of DLC so far: The Zombie of Dr Ned (8/10), Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot (8/10) and The Secret Armory of General Knoxx (9/10). It's been a DLC master class by developer Gearbox Software.
Knoxx a lot to complain about here.

You play the main game fine, then you cna play the game again (new game plus) and it gets harder = fine.
However, if you play any of the DLC, injcluding zombie island, and go back to the main game, you are so overlevellled its a joke and kind of broken.
Also if you play any of the DLC even AFTER finishing the game on first run, you are so over levelled its not worth new game plus.
Thye could put a difficlutly setting in, but thats the poiunt of the levelling. I wish they could sort this out, as once you get to level 20 +. you can keep going and play the game twice and get some challenge on new game plus, or do a DLC and be far too easy for anything else.
Great game, sort out the levelling to make it a challenge please.

In fact I did Knoxx on Playthrough 2 with a few friends and it took us at least 15 hours to finish everything. Absolutely fantastic value, Gearbox should be highly praised for showing how DLC should be done!

General Knoxx improves on the entire Borderlands formula, and is a seriously meaty content add-on.

Typical.

Really?
Because all totted up the DLC comes to about 2400 points, which is just under £20. I'd be hard pressed to find any new game for £20, even off Amazon or Play.
Zombie Island is a perfect piece of DLC, wonderfully designed, really well written, nicely atmospheric, very different feeling from the main game whilst playing to the main games strengths. It's also perfectly paced, eight hours of enjoyment.
Knoxx has content comparable to some other games. It's the biggest piece of DLC I've seen out of Awakenings and Shivering Isles and is legitimately good fun to play.
Moxxi has it's detractors, and not having loot drops forces the game to rely on its shooting mechanics, but it's entertaining but perhaps overlong. I've spent about thirty hours on Moxxi, getting me and my mates the achievements, so it's certainly going to last you.
I'd be hard pressed to find better value for money than the thirty to fifty hours of gameplay these three pieces of DLC add to the game.

Mind you, I got all three in the Steam sale the other day for £2 each, so I can't really grumble
Hehe, so did I get negged here for saying the DLC was (mostly) overpriced, or for being smug about getting them cheap?

Oh shit, how did I miss that?

Sorry buddy but you missed it twice.
It was once a normal daily deal in the last days of the Steam Summer sale and then again on the last day when they offered the best selling deals again...

Well I was lv36 after first playthough, and started a second playthrough modes game, then started dr ned an I am getting an onslaught - it's incredibly hard on 2nd play mode at lv36 anyway! I mean like 1 grunt takes 50 headshots hard!
