Blacksite PS3 slips a week

Midway has told Eurogamer that Blacksite on PS3 will arrive a week later than expected on 7th March.

So, those of you saving your pennies for this Friday will have to hold on a little longer.

Blacksite is a first-person shooter that sees you facing off with aliens in small-town America.

It hit press headlines due to its narrative, which is inspired by the current political climate in the US. Creative director Harvey Smith feels very strongly about this, and clearly hoped he could illuminate us through the game.

But his ambition was blighted by a rather slap-dash final product which, by his own admission, had been rushed to release.

Smith was open about its failure on 360 and PC last November though, and said he and his team "deserved" the critical backlash because he believed in "personal accountability".

He left Midway soon after. Apparently it was a mutual decision.

So Blacksite was underwhelming, unfinished, and only around four hours long. Hopefully the extra time the PS3 version has had in development can turn this into a solid rental recommendation.

    This still isn't out yet?! Blimey, it was a while ago that the 360 version came out, all hype for this is surely dead, especially after those comments from Harvey Smith.

    The only real downside to multi-platform releases. Share the joy, share the pain.

    Clearly an attempt to get anyone who didn't read the original reviews to part with their hard earned!

    4 hours long, believe me after playing it for 4 minutes you will want to die. I bought this before the reviews came out. And my god was it bad, simple stuff like being stuck in scenery and scripted events not occurring just made me want to smash the disc to pieces.

    Some how i manage to Trade it in for a decent price.

    If it was considered crap on the 360 then it will be on the PS3 too; I don't think its owners are *that* desperate for games somehow!

    Yeah, we really are deperate, especially after Warhawk, COD4, Unreal Tournament 3, Assassins Creed, Resistance:FOM, Motorstorm, Ratchet&Clank, Uncharted Drakes Fortune, Devil May Cry, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gainden Sigma and all thouse many other games that turn out crap... all of them :)

    It can slip forever, as far as I'm concerned.

    Do they really expect to sell even a single copy, after the debacle that was the X360/PC versions?!

    It's slipped a week? Does anyone even give a shit? Seriously, is there anyone who plans on buying this?!

    Midway might as well just not bother and save themselves a bit of production and marketing costs.


    EDIT - just checked, and this is on six people's most wanted lists! Yes, you look ashamed, I know who you are!
