ArmA II to arrive one week early News

PC News by Ellie Gibson

19 May, 2009

The release date for PC-exclusive war game ArmA II has been brought forward by a week.

Developer Bohemia Interactive reckons it features "the most realistic warfare gameplay ever", pointing out the US Army uses a modified version to train recruits. Expect team-based combat, lots of tactical business and a huge battlefield to explore.

ArmA II is now out on 19th June.

I remember hearing about that, but Play and Amazon only have PC versions listed.

Might have been an idea to spend that time getting it bug tested. As much as I'd like it to be good, experience tells me it will be a mess for a few months.

Can you maybe delay it and fix the bugs before releasing it this time?

Never mind the bugs, my main gripe with the original is the AI's uncanny ability to see through even the thickest of vegetation.

well you'll be pleased to know that was one of the main fixes from the last game. the AI in arma was largely unchanged since OFP but they have been working considerably on it for arma2 and soldiers now take cover with "centimetre precision" apparently.

These are the type of games PC are made for.....I cant wait. As for the 360/PS3 , just look at how the Battlefield series has gone because of consoles..down from 64 player pc version to 40 on the map with there upcoming release.

The 100% accuracy of the AI in ArmA was the only bad thing about the last game...its hope its gone

If the first game is anything to go by "realistic" should read "boring and tedious".
