April LBP goodies revealed, dated News

PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

9 April, 2009

Sony has revealed its schedule for new LittleBigPlanet downloadable content in April.

The highlight of the month is the Cornish Yarg update, according to the US PlayStation blog, that boasts new features and fixes. Sony has given this a provisional date of 16th April - the same day a Monkey King outfit will be offered.

Arriving today, however, are Rag Doll Kung Fu and Patapon costume packs. The former costs USD 5.99 (UK/EU pricing to come) and bulges with five outfits; the latter costs USD 1.99 and has a single, circular-eyed get-up for Sackboy to wear.

A free Creator Pack will arrive on 23rd April (provisional date) to help people make levels, alongside a Heavenly Sword costume pack that costs three bucks.

Then, on 27th April, there will be a mini Egyptian Mythology costume pack for three dollars, followed a week later by a bundle of Norse-themed, also for three smackers.

Each of the costume packs contains lots of themed stickers, too.

Those should keep you busy.

why are you giving us the prices in dollars?

Can you not be bothered to get the correct conversions?

Absolute. Fucking. Ripoff.

I enjoy LBP, but these packs are hugely overpriced.

it would be interesting to see the sales of LBP DLC. I assume the metal gear add on was the best selling. it's the only one i've payed for, and i'd pay for more content like it, but i'm not paying just for extra costumes and stickers.

Suppose they have to make money somehow considering that it's being flogged for under £10 now according to HotUKDeals.

At least when the DLC is this rubbish, it's easy just to say no.

It just bugs me when you have to buy it, to continue playing online to any decent level.

Yarg is lovely.

Refused point-blank to pay for any of the LBP downloads so far, rip-off.

Agreed - Now you know why the price of the title is so low, because they want to sucker people into micro transactions and before you know it you've spent £50
(if not more) absolute RIPOFF!

I'd rather they'd focus on making a huge add-on disc of just LBPII than releasing these overpriced scraps of nothing. But I guess if ppl buy it..

Same thing that happens to most companies sooner or later (one notable exception seeming to be Microsoft): The laws of Economics.

Remember when horse armour for Oblivion was released and considered a ripoff?

LBP seems to release its equivalent weekly and for the same price!

i admit that i did buy a couple of costumes, but then i realised i was an idiot for doing so. i mean, you're playing a game where you can't even turn around and see your back!!! sure you jump into the background but you don't TURN AROUND... this is the 21st century people, why can't you turn around to see the back of your stupidly overpriced jacket that you've just shelled out hard earned cash for?????!
