Pokémon Sun and Moon introduces Prof Oak's cousin
Meet Samson.
For too long, Pokémon fans have wondered about Professor Oak's family. Is there a Mrs Oak? What's going on with him and Ash's mum?
We still don't know the answers to those questions, but we do now know Professor Oak has a cousin - who will be revealed for the first time in November's Pokémon Sun and Moon.
Meet Samson Oak, who happens to live in Sun and Moon's region of Alola (thanks, Serebii). Fittingly, his role appears to be discussing the different forms of known animals - just as he himself is a new take on an old face.
Samson was revealed in a new Japanese trailer for Sun and Moon, which has yet to be localised but only really serves to round up the new critters and other fresh features revealed so far:
