Cave announces Mushihimesama HD
2004 bullet hell favourite gets Xbox 360 revival.
2004 arcade shoot 'em up Mushihimesama is getting an HD makeover for Xbox 360, bullet hell specialist Cave has announced.
According to Andriasang's translation of a blog post on the developer's official site, Cave itself is in charge of the new version, unlike the 2005 PlayStation 2 port.
Producer Makoto Asada hinted that some extra content might be added, though didn't confirm a launch date or plans for a Western release.
The blog post also mentions impending Japanese Xbox Live Games on Demand releases for Deathsmiles and Mushihimesama Futari - the aforementioned's 2006 sequel.
The next Cave title confirmed to be heading to these shores is Akai Katana, due on Xbox 360 in the first half of this year.

Not heard of this game personally but it's always good to see classics get the HD treatment. The more the merrier!

Yeah this game has even more bullets than Futari, but like Mushihimisama Futari there are 3 main modes of play which differ in difficulty.
Original mode which is similar to an oldschool shooter and doesnt have many bullets on screen. Its quite noob friendly
Manic Mode which is the normal bullet hell mode most ppl play.
And then theres the over the Ultra Mode where CAVE just put as many bullets onscreen as possible and it only ment for thevery best shmup players. This is the mode that tends to be infamous on YT and puts ppl off playing

Really looking forward to this. Who would have thought that the 360 will get so many Japanese danmanku shmups? It's fantastic.

It may be worth mentioning that Cave released a 1.5 version update of the game last year (I think) so that's likely to be in the package as well.
Happy days.
