Vita shooter Unit 13 release date announced

MAG dev's latest just misses console launch.

Unit 13, the new Vita IP from MAG/Socom developer Zipper Interactive, launches in Europe on 7th March, publisher Sony has announced.

A surprise addition to the Vita's line-up last November, it's a third person military shooter specifically designed for bite-sized portable play.

It drops the player in various contemporary settings and tasks them with dispatching terrorists, dictators, gunrunners, warlords and drug traffickers.

You'll have six different classes to choose from - Infiltrator, Sniper, Soldier, Technician, Point Man, and Support.

Intrigued by this. Have fond memory of socom on ps2 but haven't gotten into any ps3 games made by zipper so i shall be intreasted but will wait till see more before thinking anything.

Oh and it really changes everything having that second stick doesnt it, the ease of movement in that video is a world away from third person shooters on psp.

Sure did a good job of making that look boring. It took me a long time to flick through the video to find the gameplay, never mind if you were actually doing it in real time.

Looks pretty decent, but I'm not convinced as to how a proper FPS will work on the Vita. Will certainly wait for the reviews and/or a demo...

Looks like they improved the graphics.Lighting and textures look much improved then the video i seen a few months back.
