Brink nominated for Writers' Guild Award
Enslaved, The Curfew also up for gong.
Splash Damage shooter Brink is nominated for a Writers' Guild Award.
More specifically, lead writer Ed 'Bongoboy' Stern, who wrote Brink's story, is up for the gong. He is joined on the best video game nominations list by Alex Garland and Tameem Antoniades for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and Kieron Gillen for The Curfew.
At the Develop conference in Brighton this year Stern discussed Brink's story in a detailed developer session.
The Writers' Guild of Great Britain reveals the winners on 16th November.

It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't just the story that they forgot to include.

This is how most awards work, a panel doesnt sit down and play every game, to see which has the best story, they just see a show reel sent from the publisher nominating themselves.

According to their website it's The Writer's Guild of Great Britain, so I guess that explains why the writers for Portal 2 weren't nominated. I never played Brink so I can't really comment on that but I liked the story and the world Ninja Theory built in Enslaved. Very likeable characters in Monkey and Trip. Never heard of the Curfew.

Only very lightly though, they used character names mostly and done their own thing with the story.

Haven't played The Curfew, but the man can certainly tell a tale, that's for sure.

But I too would like Enslaved to win it.

"They've taken your command post".
"Mucho bad guys spotted".
"They've destroyed your turret".
Repeat ad nauseum.

I'd give it a 4/5 for effort.

Still angry at this game because I CAN'T PLAY ONLINE. This is the only game that still gives me problems.

It would generate less hits and comments, I know, but after doing something like that, try to remember it the next time you think about saying "We need more games like Enslaved, but people barely notice them".
