SWTOR special edition detailed – report
Swag-heavy collector's set sighted.
An image of what purports to be the Collector's Edition of BioWare's forthcoming MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic has appeared online.
As posted on NeoGAF, it lists the following extras for the set:
- Exclusive Gentle Giant Darth Malgus statue
- Star Wars: The Old Republic game discs in collectable metal case
- The Journal of Master Gnost-Dural annotated by Satele Shan
- Old Republic galaxy map
- Custom security authentication key
- Exclusive music of Star Wars: The Old Republic CD
- High quality Collector's Edition box
On top of all that swag you'll also get access to seven additional digital in-game items:
- Flare gun: Fire flares into the air
- Training droid: Hovers at your side for combat assistance
- HoloDancer: Project your own holographic dancer
- HoloCam: Keep visual records of in-game adventures
- STAP: Sleek and unique in-game vehicle
- Exclusive Mouse Droid: Spunky droid to join your adventures
- Exclusive Collector's Edition store: Unique in-game vendor with a dynamic assortment of items
Neither a price nor launch date are mentioned, but that lot looks pricey.
We'll update as soon as publisher EA has confirmed whether this is the real deal.

Unless Gentle Giant have really dropped their quality, the statue should be very, very nice.

I love tin boxes to my games and DVDs.
The paperwork looks a little weak.
The statue looks like plastic.
Retail ? That will be £129.99. ( This is Rip Off EA after all ).
That said, I'm buying it.
If the games does well this will sell out. If not, it will do what the AOC & Warhammer boxsets did. Sell for £9.99 six months after launch .
I think this has the best chance to succeed in an MMO world dominated by the brilliant WOW simply because it has so much more LORE behind it. And it's a sci fi setting rather than another fantasy one. Still with the best part of a year to wait....best forget it for now and go play your other MMO of choice for now.......meanwhile......
