From Dust, Uncharted 3 at GameCity6

Nottingham festival flexes muscle this October.

Another World creator Eric Chahi, Naughty Dog lead game designer Richard Lemarchand and Flower developer thatgamecompany's Robin Hunicke headline the GameCity6 festival this October in Nottingham.

From 25th to 29th October the trio will present their new games, From Dust, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and Journey.

Chahi will launch the festivities, and will curate the entire first day with a focus on From Dust.

Lemarchand will offer fans a personal introduction to PlayStation 3 exclusive Uncharted 3, as well as a behind the scenes look back at the previous two entries in the trilogy during a Creator's Commentary.

And Hunicke will host a late night, large-scale projection of Journey.

They will be joined by Czech developer and founder of Amanita Design Jakub Dvorsky, who will unveil Samorost 3 and Botanicula, and deliver the UK premiere of Kooky.

More details on the festival will be revealed in the coming months.

What an excellent location Nottingham would be for the Expo next year, eh EG? ;-)

Oh, I'm only like an hour away on the train- I'm tempted to nip over and have a look at the Uncharted stuff.

Samorost 3 clearly being the highlight there. Just Dvorsky in general really.

All games that I'm incredibly interested in, especially Journey. So why oh why is it up north and not situated in London?

Because you know the UK has other places other than London in it.God Londoners seem to think the country revolves around them.

London is not central to the UK, I think London has enough stuff already. I live 20 mins from Notts aswell.

So, September is a trip to Birmingham for the GAMEfest shiz as well as the infamous EuroGamer Expo. Then October is GameCity. Win!

Well, London has the highest population (by a *huge* margin), and is the capital city; I think it's perfectly fair to expect most things to take place here. I mean really, London has a population of 7 something million, why should it be in Nottingham?

Typical comment, Higher population than the rest of UK? No, so more things should be central to UK like the NEC. Easier for more people to get to. London is a pain and a rip off.

Well, since the uni and the council are major supporters of the festival it has every right (and hopefully intention) of staying put and enjoying an ever increasing profile within the games scene. Been supporting it since year one and its great, sure some odd things but generally something for all to enjoy. The Elite celebrations a couple of years back were excellent - making origami spacestations whilst having a great chat with Ian Bell was a highlight. Oh, its pretty much on my doorstep too.. So hands off! :p

There are pockets of game developers all over the UK. For example, there is a massive group in Scotland and also the North East in general. We have our own activities and stuff too which are attended by people from London; you Londoners have enough to do :p

I used to live in Nottingham when I was a teenager and would cry out at the lack of game stuff up there. Since I moved, it seems the city has gone game mad. Oh well, suppose I need an excuse to visit the family.
