Mario & Sonic at London Olympics sighted?

Possible Sonic Generations art leaks too.

Mario & Sonic at the 2012 London Olympics is on the way, if leaked art is to be believed.

Two placeholder sleeves dug up at Sonic Stadium show logos for a new Olympics game and something called Sonic Generations – most likely the game that SEGA posted a teaser trailer for earlier this week.

If legitimate, it wouldn't come as too much of a surprise - a new Olympics title was hinted at last year by a Spanish SEGA rep.

When contacted by Eurogamer for a confirm/denial, a SEGA spokesperson replied "No comment I'm afraid."

This would be the third sports spin-off for the former platforming rivals, after getting involved at the Beijing games in 2007 and the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2009. The former managed around 10 million sales while the latter netted a still-impressive six million.

This will probably be more epic than the actual Olympics. Our Olympic celebration is going to be appauling and awful.

So long as there's a Sonic versus Chris Hoy option then that's fine with me...

It was a safe bet they'd do another one after the others sold a bajillion copies.

Mario & Sonic Winter Olympics was much, much better than the summer games, so I'm actually quite looking forward to this. Hopefully it supports Motion Plus.

And the Wii Balance Board? Wait, there's no skiing in the regular Olympics.

I thought the original Mario & Sonic was a mess that bordered on unplayable. Haven't played the winter olympics equivalent yet, but from the sounds of it people thought it was another mediocre mini-game collection. Frankly, I'd rather see a genuine attempt to let the Mario and Sonic universes collide in the form of a platform adventure. Provided it's in the capable hands of Nintendo of course, not fucking Team Sonic.

@#2 Thanks for the baseless judgement there buddy. Nothing like a little optimism to bright up a Friday morning.

Please don't bother 'enlightening' us with your opinion again.

I like how the original sonic was well designed, fit the style and tone of the game, and was generally a loveable character.......and the new one is what happens when your marketing department has a say in your chracter designs.
