Capcom has made Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, revealed last week via magazine scans, official.
The PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game is described as a collaboration between Capcom and Vancouver developer Slant 6 Games and is due out this winter.
Operation Raccoon City is a third-person team-based shooter. It reinterprets the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3. Expect zombies and bio-organic weapons – the "third unpredictable element" in the squad on squad action.
Players assume the role of an Umbrella Security Services soldier (U.S.S.), competing alone or in four player co-op in a battle against the competing forces at play in Raccoon City.
We're promised the return of original Resident Evil enemies, iconic landmarks such as the Raccoon City Police Department, and series stalwarts Leon S. Kennedy. He's on your hit list.
Competitive online modes feature three-way combat between the Umbrella Security Service, US Special Ops, and zombies and BOWs.
Meanwhile, Capcom announced that a demo of Nintendo 3DS game Resident Evil Revelations will be included with Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.
The demo is set on board an ocean liner, and features a playable Jill Valentine.
The Mercenaries 3D is due out "in the coming months". Capcom promised more details at game show E3 in June.
