Topless Tiger Woods "glitch" found

Chest the remedy for winter blues.

One eagle-eyed gamer has unclothed a rather embarrassing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 bug: a topless female character model.

She's pictured, swinging away, on The Sun website, and has no more than her glasses, some tight white shorts and a pair of golf shoes to hide her modesty.

"We couldn't stop laughing," said Jo Eley, 26, the woman whose character the invisible outfit belongs to.

"Now I can't get rid of it. It could have been worse, she looks quite good and has bigger boobs than me."

EA told The Sun that it was looking into the "glitch".

    I've not seen it and I've not played it and it doesn't affect me in the slightest, but it should be banned.

    The game of golf, that is.

    Will digital foundry do a face off between the 360 and PS3 version of said topless woman?

    My guess is that the boobs have better lighting on PS3 but the framerate as the boobs bounce when she swings will favor 360.

    @JBlokeUK - are you kidding?! The PS3 version will have an entire SPU dedicated to the breast physics, so naturally it will be superior. It's just common knowledge...

    is it just me, or it seems that from now on every time a game on the PS3 is 'malfunctioning' companies will use the 'it is hacked' excuse?

    Err... so they've modeled the characters in the game in quite some detail then. O_o

    Even the new eve character creation doesn't have nipples! Someone else checked, not me... err.

    Yeah, so far I haven't even heard of hacked PS3s being able to play pirated games (though I haven't really looked into it) but if people were doing this sort of thing with their custom firmwares, I'd like to think it would have been reported fairly widely. Being able to mod games is the first genuinely good use for this hacking that I've seen.

    As much as I want to believe this, I'm calling shenanigans on this one.

    Although there are PS3 items in the photos, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that these visuals are from a modded PC version displayed using the TV's VGA connection. The captured images seem to be 4:3 ratio stretched to fit a 16:9 screen. Unless the dolt playing this has purposely set their PS3 to display on their HDMI native TV in 4:3 (HDMI & PS3 should auto-detect in 16:9); again this hints to me that it's 4:3 aspect ratio PC footage displayed on the TV stretched to 16:9.

    This is easily done via a gamesave mod, like people have been doing in MW2 recently.
    The chances of this happening via a glitch, are about the same as clicking on arcade mode in Street Fighter 4, and the game taking you to the options menu instead. And this has apparantly happened to her character's top AND shorts. You do the maths.
    All games with character creators have some kind of base model, which the custom clothes are applied over. That's why her shorts are pure white, in the proper game they'll never be seen because you can't choose "don't wear any bottoms". Usually the entire boob area is modelled (but not usually textured realistically) because you'd notice the white parts if you choose skimpy tops. Although I can't imagine there being many sexy outfits in a golf game...

    So there you have it. A story based on a false premise without the tabloid checking the facts first, yet the damage to video games/EA/(Tiger?) is already done. You can see why it'd appeal to them - it ticks both the 'boobs' and 'moral indignation' boxes at the same time, but it's another win for sloppy journalism. Perhaps I'm expecting too much from The Sun.
