UK chart: FIFA 11 wraps up 2010

EA finishing as it means to go on?

The ever-present FIFA 11 spends the 52nd and last week of 2010 on top of the UK all-formats chart.

Christmas number-one Call of Duty: Black Ops is barged to second, followed by Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Just Dance 2 and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

No change there, then.

Kinect Sports edges up the table to sixth, and pushes Gran Turismo 5 to seventh and The Sims 3 to eighth.

Fallout: New Vegas manages to clamber back into the top-flight in ninth, and heavy Christmas television advertising sees Dance Central leap from 19th to 10th.

Below that, the chart reflects the Christmas-period tastes of the British public. Kinect appears to have done well, as have big licences like Star Wars and WWE.

Kinect everywhere? Seems like a XMas hit.

Glad that Sonic Colours is still hanging on, the Wii version has done a lot to restore my faith in the franchise, and has had a lot of love in my house this Christmas!

Are you seriously including "Harry Potter" in the Kinect games list? :/

[Edit: A quick scan of the list and there are 20 titles in the top 40 that feature on the PS3, so I don't know where you get the figure of 8 from.... unless it's from your fantard arse]

He's probably referring to the individual format charts where only 8 PS3 titles appear in the top 40. Where you will also find that out of the 18 360 titles that appear 6 are indeed Kinect titles.

    @TSB,

You're right, I should (and do) apologise for speaking out of turn.

However, you are a fantard :p

In a perfect world developers (ahem/publishers) would challenge themselves into releasing a product that is undeniable better then their last. In that same world consumers would refuse to buy that marginally better version.( I am still fine with Fifa 10 this year, thank you. Could use a Good FIfa street though.)
Well i guess stockholders have to be satisfied, bonuses have to be collected, etc.
On the other hand we have people embracing Kinect and more importantly Dance Central (Harmonix really

It was released on 24th November, so as of this chart it's only been on release for 5 weeks. If it, being Sony's biggest franchise, wasn't in the top 10 after 5 weeks on sale, there would be something seriously wrong with the world.

Just Dance being in the top 20 over a year after release is "legs"

Mario Kart Wii being in the top 20 2 1/2 years after release is definately "legs"

Hell, you could even (at a real stretch) talk about FIFA 11 having legs, topping the chart after being on release for a quarter of the year.

    But GT5 holding a top 10 position after 5 weeks? That ain't legs ;)
