UK chart: Halo: Reach rockets to top
As PlayStation Move arrives.
Bungie's final Halo game - Halo: Reach - has stormed to the top of the UK all-formats chart, becoming Microsoft's biggest ever launch title and the fifth largest UK release ever.
Only the launches of Modern Warfare 2 and GTAIV sold more units on Xbox 360.
Halo: Reach sold 20,000 more copies than Halo 3, and 200,000 more than Halo 3: ODST.
Last week's other headline launch was PlayStation Move. Sports Champions took the second spot, but Move's other launch titles had a weaker impact: Start the Party! finished 29th and Ubisoft's Racket Sports managed 32nd. However, Move-enabled titles performed well: Toy Story 3 took fourth, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 took ninth, R.U.S.E. 11th and Resident Evil: Gold Edition 22nd.
The top 10 was as follows: Halo: Reach (1), Sports Champions (2), Mafia II (3), Toy Story 3 (4), Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (5), Tom Clancy's HAWX 2 (6), Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days (7), Just Dance (8), Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 (9), Red Dead Redemption (10).
EA's NHL 11 was this week's other new entry in 26th.
Note that Metroid: Other M has fallen out of the top 40 after three weeks on sale. Nintendo's experimental take on the IP didn't manage to break into the top 10, despite a strong 8/10 from Eurogamer.

I hope we get some reliable figures at some stage - people are naturally going to take any Sony press release witha degree of skepticism since they (Sony) will always want to show Move to be a success story. But if third party support is dependent on sales of Move, I'm waiting impatiently. The last thing I want is for future games to only cater for twin-sticking rather than Move-controlled reticles because takeup of the controller is slow.

I so far really like almost everything, but Sports Champions is deservedly the biggest Showcase.

I picked up RUSE as well. Really enjoyed the demo on PS3 and I'm hoping Move support will work well
