What is it with you people and changing the site every five minutes?

Just. Leave. It. Alone.

Or better still, put it back the way it was when it was orange.

And then leave it alone.

ICO

boo

Me - I actually had to turn the pad vibration off because, when I ran and held her hand tightly, jerking her along stride by stride, I felt like I was hurting her.

I thought that was just me...

It was really odd seeing ICO on the shelf in HMV today. Lots of them.
I felt like grabbing them all and just running up to people saying 'Buy this!'

Film studios cut back on UMDs

boo

So...
You buy a UMD to play on a PSP, and then hook it up to a TV to watch it on that...

If only there were some other device, that could easily be hooked up to a TV... maybe something mains powered so that it didn't need recharging...

Nah.
It'd never catch on.

boo

I've got big hands. The current DS is fine, but something smaller's just going to be awkward to hold.

The original 'wide' GBA was/is much more comfortable to use the than GBA SP.

Smaller's not always better.

The wife's broken 4 million in Time Attack. You need to be in Extra hard mode which is unlockable by becoming top of the leader board in all the variations).
I'm fairly sure somebody on the forum posted that they'd reached 5.5 million.

Korean gamer collapses and dies

boo

I always thought you began to halucinate after about 36 hours of sleep deprevation?

Not hallucinate as such, but you do feel strange. I used to do shift work, and occasionally I'd get no sleep before my last night shift, work all night, then stay up the next day so I could get back into 'sleeping at night' mode for my next day shift.

After about 20 - 24 hours you're just really, really tired, then you kind of hit your second wind, and wake up again, but it's a kind of 'trancey' awake.
I remember watching the Steve Martin film 'L.A. Story', which is a little surreal at the best of times, but when you've been awake 38 hours straight, it's a whole other experience.

But when you finally go to bed - boy do you sleep well!

Star Wars: Battlefront II

boo

It's a review. It's Jim's opinion on what he thought of the game.
If you like it - good for you. If you don't - that's fine too
For those of us with an interest in the Star Wars oeuvre, who don't have access to the game it allows us an insight to how it plays.
It's reasonable to assume that if we're looking at a review of a Star Wars game, we probably have some interest in the Star Wars films (not movies please, this is England).

Combining a knowledge of Jim's previous reviews (Have I agreed with him, have I disagreed with him?), it allows the reader to form a basic opinion on whether the game is worthy of further investigation.

Critcising a review because it doesn't match your own opinion is tantamount to disliking someone because they don't have the same birthday as you.
Everybody's different.

I we can go some way to injecting some manners and politeness back into EG, which has been sadly lacking of late it would be, I feel, a good thing.
Thank you.

Miyamoto predicts the future

boo

So the next gen Nintendo machines will have a jack that allows you to hook up a projector so you can play on a wall.

/buys shares in Dulux

"Our new slightly-off-white has been designed by scientists to produce the optimal playing surface while at the same time, reducing eye strain. Simply prepare your gaming projection system backdrop (hereafter referred to as 'the wall') with your officially licensed Nintento Sponge System, allow to dry, then apply the paint with your Nintendo Revolving Hand Held Paint Applicator and Nintendo Paint Containment System.

Yes it looks like a roller and a tray to the uneducated, but this is next-gen paint technology.

PSP - Wait And See

boo

My heart is saying 'run out at luchtime and see if you can find one somewhere', but my head is saying 'Wait and see.'

If I didn't have to buy the 'value' pack, and could just get the machine for, say, 129 - I wouldn't be having an internal debate - I'd be playing Lumines.
As it is - it's too much money for something that's just a poor cousin to my PS2, no matter how nice it looks.

Are you buying a PSP? Tell us why or why not

Poor show from Sony, waiting 9 months to release it here...

Marc Ecko set to sue New York City in graffiti row

boo

Graffiti is vandalism when done on public or private property (unless of course the private property belongs to the artist).
Unfortunately most of the "artists" involved seem to miss this fact, while ranting about freedom of expression.
You want to express yourself, go and buy a piece of canvas.
