@calandbolg

Games hsve had expansions for a long time. Did you moan about them in the 90s? Season passes are just a way to access them. Pre-order bonuses tend to consist of pointlessly minimal things that are not worth getting upset about.

@crimsontadpoles

In all honesty how many games genuinely attempt to "nickel and dime (you) for all (you're) worth"?

Really do think the hysteria about them needs to be alleviated somewhat. Not every single MT is an act of pure evil (and has an affect on gameplay, more to the point).

@BAZlNGA

Still not sure why you think cosmetic DLC affects gameplay. Please explain.

As for Origins, that's just your opinion that it's a grind in any way, and thus may have made YOU feel encouraged to spend money on the game.

Pretty sure the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro exist more or less purely because of the advent of 'affordable' 4k TVs, not because of your assumption that they exist because people just want more power, and sooner.

In fact I'm guessing the majority of us don't have a 4K-ready screen, thus have little use for a Pro/One X anyway. And if you've got a 4k TV/monitor, why wouldn't you want to make full use of it?

Nor does this article exist because people are impatient, have you read it?

I still think a lot rests on whether one wants/has use for a portable console, or not.

My interest in the console would skyrocket if its portability was worth anything to me; alas it isn't, and there's enough on the PS4 that I can't justify another console especially when I'm not massively into the staple Nintendo IPs.

One thing I hated about making people have to get in/take off in vehicles (even though it made it far more immersive) is that you'd get people - myself included sometimes admittedly - queuing up to get in the best tank etc. Instead of actually contributing anything for their team.

And don't get me started on the people who'd crash planes as soon as they took off. I think at least 1943 included a solo practice map where people could learn how to use the vehicles instead of having to learn on the fly during rounds and wasting a vehicle when a more experienced driver/pilot could have used it.

Didn't really get on with Battlefield 1 as much as I normally do with Battlefield games, but a return to WW2 really excites me. Think that's a lot to do with having more varied theatres (and thus maps) to fight in, more advanced technology etc. Plus I've just always been fascinated by the war itself, as awful as that period of humanity was.

Hopefully if this is legit, we'll get the BF1943 Pacific island maps as part of the package!
