Good interview and an entertaining read. Konnie, you're cool.

Yeah I can see where it would lose a point due to the jumping, creation controls and the lives. Creation controls were always going to be a bit tricky, my opinion, due to using a controller, rather than keyboard and mouse. Actually, that's a point, can you use a keyboard and mouse within the creation part of the game?

Sounds like a fun game. Definitely going to get it and enjoy playing and creating levels. Missed out on the Beta damnit.

Bit confused as to why it dropped a point to a 9 though.

The House of the Dead 2&3 Return

Pooley

Both games are good fun. HOTD 2 is very difficult, but the voice acting and the graphics just keep making you smile. HOTD is much easier and the graphics are much prettier, but it doesn't feel as nice to play as 2.

I bought this for 2 player coop though. I've yet to try it, but I need a different 2 player game as my mates and I are a bit bored of Wii Sports.

Revamped PS3 Store "will no longer use the PS3 browser"

Pooley

Sheesh! Another update, which takes aaaaages to download. Every time I turn on my PS3 it seems to want to update something or other. It's good to update the console, just wish they'd reduce the frequency a bit.

What caused EG to drop a point with this game then? The text of the review seemed pretty much a 10/10 fanboi service all the way through.

Definitely gonna get this as soon as it's available, better dig out four Cube controllers in readyness.

Definitely looking forward to this, I've spent many an hour racing around in GT4 and I'm looking forward to the improvements in GT5p, and GT5 when it eventually arrives. I'll get a chance to use my steering wheel again as well.

Blu-ray or PSN though?

Game controllers are too complicated

Pooley

@dan13l "wait, that sounded better in my head..." genuine lol!

I think today's controllers are too complicated. The number of times I've pressed the wrong button in games, or not known what button to press, is countless.

However, like Blerk says, this should be down to the developer/designer to implement better controls. I still think the Cube pad is one of the best I've used, purely down to the larger "A" button and the design of the other buttons that surround it. The PS3 and 360 controllers have too many buttons that aren't differentiated enough. In my opinion, of course.

History of MotorStorm

I still enjoy this game today, and the DLC is really welcome, as well as the constant updates. However, I was unable to play a game online a week or so back, as I hadn't downloaded the latest patch. Tried to download the patch, but PSN must've been busy as it continually failed, even though access to the Store was fine.

Still, a damn enjoyable game, even if it does make me feel ill with motion sickness after an hour or two!

The Orange Box

Pooley

Some of the videos I've seen on Gametrailers that compare the 360 and PS3 versions of HL2, show terrible frame rates on the PS3 version. Bad enough to put me off buying this game altogether.

What a wasted opportunity.

The recent Valve interview in Edge was a good read. It really made them out to be a studio that cares about supplying a product that everyone can enjoy. So why are they so against the PS3? With the number of decent titles on the PS3 still in single figures, surely they could have made the effort with this game and gone on to sell bucketloads.

Does not compute!

PS3: 12 Games of Christmas

Pooley

Uncharted looks very good, R&C might be a giggle too. Orange Box is a cert for me, and I'll probably get the PS3 version unless it's much, much worse than the 360 version.

Seriously though, with all these games coming out before Christmas, especially with Super Mario Galaxy and probably some other titles I can't think of for the Wii, we're not going to have time to do much else than play games!

Better get the pressie shopping out of the way first...

Talisman on a console? Sounds intriguing. I'm still playing this boardgame, had a go of it recently with three friends. It'll be interesting to see how it plays, and whether they include any of the add on packs to flesh out the original game.

Okami on Wii. A definite purchase for me, provided it isn't messed up. Missed this on the PS2, but I think it'll work well on the Wii.

Wii: 2007's Most Wanted

Pooley

Weirdly, of the current three consoles I have, it's the games coming out for the Wii that I'm most interested in. Mind you, it's about time I bought a game for it, as I bought three games at launch and haven't purchased anything since.

Galaxy, Metroid and Brawl are the main ones, Paper Mario as well I suppose. I'm also looking forward to replaying some of the previous Metroid games on VC (I've read elsewhere that Nintendo will be releasing the VC games to coincide with the release of Corruption).

No news about Animal Crossing Wii yet then?

Wii update breaks Freeloader

This is a right pain for me tbh. My Cube is a US one, so 95% of my games are also. Wii is a UK one. Bloody annoying. Guess my Cube will have to stay under the telly for a little bit longer.

Wii firmware updated

Apparently, this latest upgrade has borked Freeloader. Haven't tried it myself yet, but that'll be annoying if I want to play my US Cube games on my UK Wii. Knew I should have bought a US Wii.
