Well it looks nice! But you'll have to add me to the "wasn't impressed" group. It's just *that* handling! I could not get used to it at all. It put me right off the game. I love Burnout. I loved NFS: Most Wanted. All examples of tried and tested handling. But this... gah! I wish I could put my finger on it... Something's just not right with it. I'm not even sure if it just needs a bit of tweaking or if it's fundamentally flawed. I really can't tell. All I know is, it's currently not for me. I'm gutted as I was following this game eagerly. One of those rare times for me when a demo completely flips my opinion of a game I was really looking forward to. Also, surely the demo was downloaded so many times as people want their mates to play it so they could unlock the 2nd demo track? Rather than it being a testament to the success of the demo or the anticipation of the game.... Clever marketing mind you! |

The E3 trailer should not have been released without sounds effects for the vast majority of it. It made it look "soft" and lacking both impact and feedback on the weapons - all key things that made BLACK what it was. They made the wrong decision to cover it all with music, but I'd imagine they either weren't happy with the gun and impact sound effects or that they aren't at shippable quality yet. Bit of a shame really. |

MS sorry for leaked Midnight Club DLC

I only played Burnout Paradise for a few days when it came out. I just find it so unrewarding to me, the driving model is too forgiving (compared to Burnout 1 and 2), it just didn't do much for me... ... on the other hand, Midnight Club kept me occupied for weeks and weeks, and I wasn't achievement hunting either. I just loved it. I think with Burnout if you overload the player with all that colour, explosions, carnage and speed, they just become numb to it all... In effect one of the most visually impressive and colourful games out there, actually ends up feeling bland. |
