No Man's Sky has a game-breaking exploit which is letting users farm rarest items

Stupid developers, spoiling my game by allowing me to voluntarily cheat.

It's pretty straightforward. If you want to get value and longevity out of the game, don't use the exploit. Any game can be "broken" if you cheat.

As an aside, I think producing a video guide on how to do it is a pretty poor show.

On the strength of this, I just bought Proteus. Within a few minutes I found myself hiking at night over hills towards some swirling twinkly lights, hoping to get there before they disappeared. They turned out to be moving around a stone circle - I stood in the middle and... well you'll just have to buy it too. Beautiful.

LA Noire dev staff owed nearly £900k

When companies go into liquidation staff and contractors are generally the last to get paid, if at all. The auditors (people like KPMG, for example, who wind up the company) fees can swallow up quite a large sum before anyone gets paid at all.

In a way I'm quite pleased this is just the same bit of the game, AGAIN. If there was genuinely new footage I would be tempted to watch it, and really I don't want to spoil the surprises - exploring is *the* reason I play RPGs like this.

Why do people always insist that robot voices has to be shoved through a phaser/pitch shifter or whatver to be 'robotish'. I quite like that it's just his plain voice, works well for me.As for the trailer - well, nothing much about the actual game is there, but I'm definitely interested!

Oddly, apart from the clunky graphics I find the idea of this quite exciting - provided they can make the world seamless with as little as possible (or no) instancing. One of the things WoW has right is the unbroken travelling around the world.

In an interesting parallel to this, after I stopped playing WoW (having played for nearly 3 years) I thought I would go back to playing lots of console games as I had done previously. But this turned out not to be the case. I found the whole experience wanting and pretty shallow after playing WoW for so long, and have found myself buying fewer and fewer console games - although this may be to do with the fact I no longer have the time to play them looking after my 9 month old daughter!

Oblivion horse for PC gamers

HoraceGoesSquiffy

I think what's bothering everyone is the feeling of the getting the thin end of the wedge. Why would a developer push to include feature *X* in the first release when they can charge for it later?

In the past, I guess we've been spoilt by not quite so business-focussed devs and publishers who say "Well we meant to get this in the gold disc, but didn't quite make it - but as we "meant" to; here, have it for free for the sake of the 'community'". Sadly this attitude is getting more and more rare, but understandably so. These people make games as a business, not solely for our benefit and enjoyment.

And if one more person says "If you dont like it, don't buy it..." I swear I'll chew my own ears off. Of *course* I want the bloody horse armour and extra content, I just want to have a whinge about it before I fork out...

Ah Magpie... Sorry all the noobs get in your way. God forbid that just 'anyone' can enjoy themselves. Enjoy your big cup of ennui....

For what it's worth, I'm enjoying WoW. I'd been playing Eve earlier which is great, but there's only so much virtual economics a man can take.

I can't stand genre fantasy, or as Mrs Horace calls it "Orcs and big-titted fairies", but I wouldn't let that get in the way of a fun game.
