I actually look back to games like TOCA2. It felt like you were actually screaming along in fragile touring car, the howl of the engine and gearbox made it an even better experience. Grand Prix Legends was brutal and finishing a lap was an achievement. I could go on, but my main gripe with GT is just isn't that engaging. Grid (and hopefully Grid 2 - although why no in car view??) had the violence, Forza was much more fun (although I hate Horizon) but you know that GT wont reinvent the wheel. Hopefully in the next gen someone may actually look at what makes racing so compelling, and its not just poly counts on car models. |

GT just lacks a soul. It may look pretty but I don't want rubber band AI - yet again. I want the other drivers to outbrake themselves (like in Forza), have a huge race losing slide and actually retire from races. What's Geoff Crammond up to nowadays? |

WipEout: The rise and fall of Sony Studio Liverpool
Psygnosis. The company that made me buy an Amiga to play Shadow of the Beast, Agony, etc The boxes, the Roger Dean artwork, the feeling you were part of an underground video gaming movement where parallax was king. All their games had something. Wipeout was so cool and bleeding edge it was like seeing the future. I bought into the whole thing; the Feisar t-shirts and the soundtrack album. I hope their legacy continues and much respect is due. |

Tomb Raider writer discusses Lara Croft's kill count
Anybody wonder where SO many people to kill came from? For a mystical lost island thats vanished off the face of the earth thats a lot of recently dead bodies excluding Lara's kill count. Next game please put in more tombs and a slightly more lighthearted tone (this one is relentless in its grindhouse leanings) |

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine trailer
Really enjoyed the demo on the 360. Great to have English voice acting (is that Mark Strong?) and as demos go it was really enjoyable. Its similar to Gears in style but has a great mythology to draw on. I love Relics work. |

Witcher 2 2.0 update adds Dark Mode
I just finished it and thought it was fcking excellent. Loved the Witcher too however but this was a fantastic experience. I can't wait to see whats happens in the next instalment. Thank the gods of gaming that companies like CD Projeckt still make games like this. |

Meanwhile I shall patiently await the return of Carmageddon. The only out of body experience there is when you fly through the windscreen. |

Sorry but changing bodies? Driver was all about outrunning the cops not a cod out of body driving experience (which is reflected in the handling by the way) The 360 demo was dreadful and what a long way Reflections have fallen since Shadow of the Beast. Its a 5 at best and bargain bin bound. |

Why not COD5: Dads Army? A riff on Turning Point but you and the plucky Home Guard defend Southend from the Hun? Use spades and old WW1 equipment to repel the Nazi (without swastikas naturally) blitzkrieg? |

COD4 was a refreshing change from the over used / flogged to death WWII scenarios. This is not a good move for the series and represents a backwards step. Hopefully Colonial Marines will be worth the wait; go Gearbox. |

Got it on PS3 and PC and really impressed with the PS3 version. Plays brilliantly and a really good atmospheric racing game. PC has had no problems incidentally and running everything maxed out. |

There haven't been any good F1 games for years. At least Codemasters have made some excellent racing games. I still think TOCA2 was a benchmark when it came to racing sims. |

Polyphony would make it too clinical. GT5 is technically excellent but is totally without a soul. Now Grand Prix Legends had the works... |

Viking: Battle For Asgard
Been playing this for as good few hours now and really enjoy it. I have always found Kristian reviews excellent in general but think 5/10 is not high enough. But the whole thing with reviews is its just one persons opinion, but agree that Eurogamer now has alot of clout in review terms. I enjoy this site so much as, in general, you do get some great debates and a genuine knowledge of gaming from alot of Eurogamers. |

Epic focusing on console titles
” My girlfriend brought me to this metalcore show — Killswitch Engage was phenomenal and All That Remains. I realized, you know what? That’s the target audience for what I do. And I’m okay with that. I don’t want to win over their little college sister, because that’s not the kind of game I do." Well i'm out of Cliff's target audience then. This comment speaks volumes. |

Burnout Paradise
Hats off for the great V8 noise if nothing else. So where now for the arcade racing genre? Think the barrel is just about scraped. I have hopes for GRID and love GT5 Prologue (on Jap import) but the days when i loved Screamer, Burnout even Outrun are a warm memory. Is it me or has the law of diminishing returns started to take hold? |

Live Club demo tomorrow
After the fun of Uncharted this seemed pretty average. Had hints of the Running Man about it but it just lacked something. After Gears / GRAW / Rainbow 6 the duck + cover, lean against something gameplay is now standard. The Club just seemed average. Maybe the finished article will be a different prospect, but so far the demo left me a tad indifferent. |

Turn 10 nailed the sound effects (mostly) but GT still can't quite manage it. The Muira P400 for example was weedy beyond belief. All the V8s in Forza made the floor shake in contrast.
I am hopeful for Evolution's Drive Club (fingers crossed)
