In Nintendo, Bayonetta has found the most unlikely saviour

ChadSexington

I played the two games back-to-back on the Switch and while the first hasn't aged particularly well, it is still great. I think I preferred the second (didn't play it on the Wii U) for its slightly more forgiving nature.

Roll on the third!

Persona 5's translation is a black mark on a brilliant game

ChadSexington

This article is a piece written by someone with the sole intention of showing off that they know Japanese. There are allegedly countless examples of bad translation in the game, yet just stuff are cited.

It is not perfect, but each character has a distinct personality, which is not distracted from. The story has not been compromised and this piece is ultimately worthless.

I appreciate that the author is an American, but an 'attorney' in UK law is a very different thing than in US law. The word to use is 'lawyer' if you don't know if someone is a barrister or a solicitor, although in this case probably the former.

4K PC gaming is finally viable - and it's stunning

ChadSexington

@adamantium my question was about motion resolution, not lag per se. For example, in motion, my Panasonic plasma maintains 1080p - there is no motion blurring; all 4K TVs I have seen reviewed drop down to around 500p in motion because of the limitations of LCD. OLED is even worse.

Finding the humanity in Dark Souls 2

ChadSexington

Loved and completed Demon's Souls; played a bit of Dark Souls enjoyed it, but never got round to finishing it; loved and completed Bloodborne; enjoying Dark Souls III so far.

However, I really did not like Dark Souls II. I picked it up on PS4 a little while after completing Bloodborne and I just could not get on with it.

At the time I put it down to playing two similar games so close together, but playing Dark Souls III, I feel that it's more down to a ponderousness in Dark Souls II that the Miyazaki games don't have. The pacing in the four Miyazaki games, albeit stunted at times because of the walls you hit as your skills develop, is, dare I say it, snappy.

In Dark Souls II they slowed it right down and I just could not bring myself to give it the time and effort needed to see it through to the end. Maybe in a year or so I will give it another go.
