Tom Clancy's HAWX sequel announced

Coming to consoles and PC this autumn.

Ubisoft has announced a sequel to 2009 flight sim Tom Clancy's HAWX will hit stores in autumn 2010.

The game, which is being developed by Ubisoft Bucharest, was announced via a note on the official HAWX web site.

Versions are planned for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and Windows PCs. Outside of that, all we really know thus far is that the game will "enable fans to once again experience the excitement and intensity that established HAWX as a successful brand", as the PR folks put it.

PSN update: demos, DLC, more demos

PSN update: demos, DLC, more demos

inFamous! Marvel vs. Capcom! Red Gorillas!

There are demos aplenty on the PS3 Store this weekend, including tasters for inFamous, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

There's plenty more content for existing PS3 games as well. The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena gets a map pack as does F.E.A.R. 2. There are some monster-themed costumes and level-making tools for LittleBigPlanet, plus some special Live recordings by Alice Cooper for Rock Band. Alice, remember, is a man. It's so confusing.

Also, note the excellent puzzler Fading Shadows for download on PSP. This costs 12 quid but is well worth the money. Pop over to our Fading Shadows review to find out more.

Ubisoft confirms HAWX demo dates

Xbox 360 tomorrow, PS3 on Thursday.

Ubisoft has told Eurogamer that the Xbox 360 demo for Tom Clancy's HAWX will go live tomorrow, followed by the PS3 version on Thursday. A PC sampler will follow on 26th February.

On offer will be co-operative play for up to four friends, and three real planes to choose from. And they're better than fake planes, obviously.

Two missions are up for grabs: one covers training techniques, and the other sees players take to the skies above Rio de Janiro - recognisable because someone built a massive statue of Jesus there.

Air combat game will be here before April.

Correction: Contrary to earlier reports, Ubisoft has not pushed Tom Clancy's HAWX back further into 2009. The game remains on track for a first-quarter release.
