Eurogamer TV Show: Episode 20

Mass Effect, Crysis, 'Woo hoo!'

Bonkers. That's Charles Martinet, otherwise knows as the Voice of Mario. You know, Mr "Woo hoo!". Anyway, as we were saying, he's nuts. And he's also one of the nicest people EGTV has ever had the pleasure of interviewing.

17 years as a one-trick rent-a-yelp would be enough to suck the joy out of most people, slowly dragging them into a permanent state of Alan Hansen. Which makes Martinet's infectious stupidity and the obvious delight he takes in his absurd and unique role quite something to behold in the flesh. His business card says it all: "Charles Martinet. Voice Actor. Woo hoo!!!"

Eurogamer TV grabbed him for entirely earnest discourse during his promotional tour for Mario Galaxy and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, both of which he lends his helium-powered vocal skills to.

And like a true sport, he said almost all the stupid things we asked him to (except for the one about PlayStation 3). You can see the bizarre results in Episode 20 of The Eurogamer TV Show. It's worth it just for Nintendo Star Wars.

From the ridiculous to the sublime. Crysis is the second game from Crytek, following on from 2004's luscious Far Cry. The PC-only shooter scooped a mighty 9 out of 10 in its Eurogamer review. It's a fine achievement and one which notably the team insists is simply not possible to recreate on console.

EGTV goes behind the scenes at Crytek's German HQ to detail the making of the game and sniff out salacious info on the studio's secret project and console plans.

Finally, you surely must have read our review of Mass Effect by now. Maybe you even joined the friendly debating society formed in the comments thread. Bioware chief Dr. Greg Zeschuk chips in with his thoughts on the game's vaulting ambitions, while giving us a hint of what to expect from the series in the future.

That's Episode 20 of The Eurogamer TV Show, available to view now in glorious PC-vision, or to download and watch later with your pants around your ankles.
