Breath of Fire 2 headed to Wii U Virtual Console

Take that, mobile phones.

Breath of Fire publisher Capcom has announced that the series' classic second instalment will be relaunched on Wii U Virtual Console.

The 1994 game will appear on Nintendo's retro download service "in the coming months", Capcom said in a blog post.

Capcom's announcement comes just a day after its divisive news that it had revived the iconic series with a new instalment exclusively for PC, tablets and smartphones.

Breath of Fire 6 will be an online version of the role-player designed for touchscreen devices. It's due to launch in Japan in 2014, and may or may not be released elsewhere.
