Extra mature cheddar on toast with lots of marmite is the kick you are looking for.

It's like syrup made from apples, nearly solid state.

I love Twiglets. Will I like Marmite? I tried it as a kid and hated it. But then again Tomatoes would actually make me vomit and I love them now.

So, as i'm off to the shops, should I give Marmite a try?

    15 actually.

    (Not really)

Anyway, do you suggest I try Marmite based on my affinity for twiglets? I'm being tight but that 1 pound could go towards some pork scratchings or chocolate or something.

    /is cheap

Definitely buy a jar of marmite.
    Jar, not squeezy bottle.
    get some bread.
    Toast the bread.
Some people swear by toast+butter+marmite, me I'm a purist. Toast & marmite is all you need.
    Spread the marmite thinly!!!!

    Enjoy!

Hmm. So i've toasted Crumpets, added a thin layer of butter, with a layer of Marmite on top.

    It's actually quite nice.

    Vegemite!!!???

    Burn the heretic!

Seriously. Vegemite is to Marmite what a bottle of room temperature lemonade made from out-of-date Soda Stream concentrate is to to a fresh bottle of R Whites, straight from the fridge.

Marmite on white bread, no butter, yes.
Wholemeal bread requires butter though. Unless you're ready to "go beyond".

Those Marmite cashew nuts are about the most tasty and addictive food stuff created.

Just wondering if the Marmite in the squeezy bottle is a different recipe to the jar stuff as doesn't taste quite right to me.

Not had marmite for ages, until a mate at work was making toast this morning. Using kingsmill's half white/half brown (or whatever its called) with butter and thinly spread marmite was a winner.
