How do you add elemental effects to weapons?

You upgrade with materials from a monster that has that elemental effect.
Eg pukei pukei will give poison, anjanath gives fire.

Thanks for the invite last night chaps, was fun. Apologies to Chrisno as I think I dumped you out of an optional quest whilst I was collecting cacti?

Hopefully I'll catch up with youse over the weekend and next week, early shifts knacker my opportunities this week.

Should have a good variety of weapons to muck about with by then.

I can't stay on too late as I have to get up at 6.30 every day.
Probably won't make it on tonight.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Monster Hunter World. The combat is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of timing the combos will go over a typical player's head. There's also Blademaster's outlook, which is deftly woven into his nihilistic characterisation - his personal combo chains draw heavily from Guild literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these combos, to realise that they're not just slow - they say something deep about TIMING and exposure. As a consequence people who dislike Monster Hunter World truly ARE idiots - of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the courage in staggering with a lance counter charge, or the complexity of a full-vial Charge Blade hit, which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Book of Combos II. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Ryozo Tsujimoto genius wit unfolds itself on their gamma-saturated screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rathalos tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 HR of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Quickly altered from a cut&paste for the lulz. ;)

Thanks to Graxalar for your assistance with the Anjanath. Especially happy to get the capture, along with the mount trophy.

Next time I'll aim to take the Anajanath by myself

Sorry for leaving early but I wanted to watch Altered Carbon.

@gooner77 I've found the Anja hunt to be easier solo!!

There was a nice, chilled vibe in the squad hub last night. Getting into the squad is a pain, but once in, it works really well.

@oldschoolsoviet nice, I'll have to give the bow gun a go at some point. There's just so many nice melee weapons to try though :)

Final thought for tonight - comms

Been really patchy, fading and cutting out past two nights. Now, that could be because voden and myself have a typical Scottish mumble, but might it be worth trying a PSN chatroom in the background, see if it's an improvement ?

Late night tomm, possibly Tues before I'll be about though.

Might be a good idea, party chat is normaly a bit better.

I was in a party with Grax, Alastair and Chris the other night and it was pretty clear. They might have still had a hard time understanding my accent though :)

Party chat certainly seems more stable and worked really well before. In a situation where there are a lot on at the same time it might fall down - but that hasn't happened much so far.

I went to Heriot-Watt uni, so I am well versed in Scottish accents. :)

I thought the party chat was cool. Even though I wasn't hunting with you for a fair part of the session, it was nice to chat together, and the chat focused on your hunt wasn't distracting.

Party chat also revealed that chrisno21 is in fact "Chris Number 21". Even though we all read it as "Chrisno"

Stay tuned for more user name revelations..!!!
    :)

I prefer party chat simply because, if you are not in a quest/hub together you dont know who is doing what or what is going on. If i am a minute away from finishing a quest i can be asking others what they are planning on doing instead of them disappearing into something thinking no one else is around.
