Rancid. Damn they are getting old now, but their last album was pretty good. Bad Religion are awesome too.

I struggle with recent Rancid albums, I've found that anything after out come the wolves is a bit wide of the mark. Some good songs here and there but not what I like really.

Any body know what happened to One Car Pileup, the band made up from some of Consumed?

The Rancid album was pretty hardcore. You should try it.

Crikey, three pages and no mention of the mighty Discharge? Or DOA?

Kennedys fans are probably well aware of his many collaborations too - Last Scream of the Missing Neighbours with DOA is probably the greatest album you've never heard.

As for my favourite punk band, I would possibly have to say NOFX. bit predictable but I've not found an album of theirs I dislike.

They're still going as far as I know. Saw them play last year in Cambridge at least, think they've played down in Kingston recently too.

Coaster? pretty good album, not their best but it's a NOFX album so it's well worth a listen.

Brit-Ska = Lightyear, that is all, I miss those guys :(

Had the "bomb ibiza" dedicated to me thanks to buying Chaz, the lead singer a beer.

    Lightyear were great, I miss Farse more though. ;_;

Im used very much a 90s punkrock kinda guy, BigWig, Diesel Boy, Pennywise. Favourite punk band? Probably NOFX, although the last time I saw them live a couple years ago they were pretty bad, they ended up playin the Decline, thats half the set gone!

Im turned more ska in the mid 00s, Streetlight Manifesto being the best thing the emerge from the ashes of the scene.

Are any of the bands mentioned on this page actually punk? I'm getting Green Day/No Doubt vibes from the names.

Depends what you define as punk I guess, all music evolves for good or bad, it aint the 70s anymore.
Pop-punk? ska-punk? punk-rock? skatepunk? emo(god forbid)? Things have changed, but so has society. Punk as it was just doesnt exist anymore simple-as, society has changed too much, is that a bad thing? A lyric always stays with me from a bigwig song, "If Sid Vicious was so punk then I guess I'll start shooting junk, they were on a major label...".

Give me 90's punk-rock over "punk" any day of the week.

But The Decline live was amazing. Worth losing a load of songs I've heard them play before anyway to hear an 18-minute masterpiece.

I was just never the biggest fan of the Decline. You cant please every fan right? :p

Yeah but that crap is mostly garage and is about as far away from punk as you get. They seem to be as punk as Robson and Jerome. No offence :D

IMO punk isn't a musical genre it's a cultural movement and so is tied directly to it's time.
