RIP you crazy jumper wearing archaeologist...

No better hangover tv than that lot digging up a roman mosaic or something.

    :-(

BBC News has a picture of Tony with a spade so potentially yes.

Only just learned that Channel 4 have killed Time Team as well :-(
I thought that they were building up to it by the way they were kicking the last couple of series around the schedules, and then did the same "Refresh the format" bollocks that finished off Scrapheap Challenge.

A friend of mine used to work on Time Team. He said it was great fun if you liked drinking real ale and staying in laughably shit hotels. Some slightly dodgy leering over nubile young archeology students though apparently...

I studied "geophys" with the intention of going into archaeology and hopefully Time Team, mainly for the dodgy leering of course. When I graduated, the reality of how little money there was in archaeology hit home, so I sold out and went into the oil industry instead.

Having met some archaeology students, they are quite nubile. And full of the romance only growing up watching the two Indiana Jones movies can give

    I'm a grumpy bastard.

    Never gonna dig you up?

    Sorry.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

There was a cracker on mainly in the background on Saturday there. I find they often keep the best ones off camera.

It was tempered by some old bag with soily finger nails and her dress hanging off one pasty shoulder right enough.

Truly you are an inspiration ;)

You don't live in Aberdeen do you? If so, my commiserations.

If you don't continue the theme though then people accuse you of being a spoilsport. They've got you over a barrel.

You guys crack me up using a complex process splitting and filtering the lighter useable elements from the heavier, less desirable components of crude oil.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

As a one time student of archaeology (I bailed out on it when I realised the industry was deader than some of the bones we were handling), it may as well have been part of the curriculum to get jiggy with any available hotties met whilst working in the field.

Heh, thankfully not. If that'd been the only option, I'd probably have stuck with the archaeology.

I was up there last year and only felt mildly threatened. It has improved to be fair....

    Sad news, :(

Time Team hasn't been the same without Mick lending the series the seriousness that Tony and Phil lack.

Always wanted to get into archaeology and not just to oggle lasses like Raksha, but I knew that I'd never be able to afford it. Just have to stick to the free digs the have at the end of July.

Hope the fact that he has been the most read and shared story all day on the BBC News website will make Channel 4 realise dumbing down and then killing Time Team was the wrong thing to do.

    They probably won't.

Our University is hosting a Medieval Congress this week and I can confirm the abundance of lovely young Women populating this field.

    Oh, and RIP Mick Aston.
