Anyone given this a bash?|
Free to download from the PS Store - comes with 2 games and a demo:
WipEout 2D - WipEout in 2D! Top down racer, with 4 tracks and 12 teams. Basic, but decent fun
Icebreaker - pretty lame Breakout clone
Scribble Shooter (demo) - scrolling shooter - style is like a series of doodles. Actually pretty decent!
There are half a dozen or so other games you can download - most are 79p.

I was going to get frogger and Time pilot and Asteroids. But it doesn't look like there are any screen formatting options. Which is shite, frogger looks silly played down a tiny sliver in the middle of the screen.

Another way to play old or poorly made games, or have I missed the point?
Clearly not my cup of tea!

I actually quite like Ice Breaker - the way the wee bear screams as it falls to its death never fails to raise a smile!
Unfortunately it seems a bit crashy if left on standby - I parked it at level 13 in the morning, listened to Music Unlimited all day, and when I went to go back to Ice Breaker I ended up having to do a reset and reboot the Vita. Hey ho, for free I think it's decent and my daughter likes it too.

I like me some free games and all, but it's a bit random that they live inside this arcade app.
Nice little addition.
Pretty mad to have the Wipeout license in there.
Quite enjoyed all 3 offerings.

And Asteroids is aces.
Asteroids is pretty much full screen.
@H1ggyLTD thanks, but I'm trying to figure out if Frogger and time pilot will be stretchable, as in the video montages they look like they are played on a tiny middle screen sliver. Are there any actual options to adjust display?
Also. Do they have online leaderboards?

OK. I took the plunge.
Frogger and Time Pilot have zero options for screen manipulation. Which means you have to play on a central small sliver of screen real estate. It's really shit and harms those games badly. I assume Centipede suffers the same lazy fate.
Asteroids is much better as it uses much more of the screen.
The Intellivision game Astrosmash is really good. The graphics have been taarted up nicely and it's feels fresh and modern.
I also have the columns alike puzzle game, which is quite good too. Mad Blocker. Nice Braid style graphics too.
I also don't see online leaderboards. Which seems utterly baffling. |These are arcade games. No leaderboards is backwards.

One other thing. Why is the music never right in Frogger? This is not the right music?!
Seen this many times in other versions though. Must be some bizarre licencing thing I guess.
