Haze may be many things, but given popular opinion and critical reception I don't think overrated is one of them
Here's a sweeping generalisation. PS3 exclusives are overrated and shit.
Kirby is the man! Even if he wasn't, he'd just ingest and become one.

Wrong. I've played pretty much all of them and left underwelmed after the fanboys claimed they are the second coming.
@DarkSpaceDS not all. Many, but not all.
Uncharted - Good graphics but extremely average gameplay. I honestly think PS2 could handle the gameplay.
God of War - Same repetitive gameplay, press square until you see the credits. Story is pretty much Kratos getting angry and smashing everything in his way. yawn.
Heavy Rain - It should be call QTE The videogame. Loved the story but theres very little gameplay. I wish I rented instead.
And those are the best titles. Then you have shit games like Infamous 1 and 2, Haze and Lair.
Yeah PS3 exclusives are amazing...not -_-

Completely agree with you. The Portal games, in my opinion, are the most overrated games of this generation. A total wasted opportunity in terms of the ingenuity of the Portal gun - two games where 80% of the "puzzles" can be completed with zero thought. The humour is so contrived I'm surprised that Valve didn't include canned laughter after each piss-poor "gag" so to say "That's a joke, that is! Aren't we so bloody funny?" No Valve, you are not. Portal being declared as GOTY is a lie. Cunts.
Awful humour, overbearing characters, a malignant story. The puzzles were playtested to hell.
"no more twitch movements" the first game had nothing that could be described as twitch aiming. Small blocks of 9 to show you exactly where to place your portal. Rooms only have a handful of "portable" walls which basically made you sit and think of the order, rather than experiment and work it out for yourself. -

Such a bullshitter. Why did you create a thread earlier asking people how you could re-download InFamous again as part of Sony's free-game offer if you hate it so much?RobTheBuilder wrote:

Personally, I think the InFamous games are utter shite, but if you're gonna troll at least don't contradict yourself. Knob. -

Registered 5 years agoLittle Big Planet had awful fucking controls that made a lot precision jumps an utter dice-roll based on how far the "floaty-ness" of the controls took you.
Shame as it was very charming and the editing tools lead to some interesting user created stuff. The actual "game" part of the game was what let it down. -

You see I'm Meat Boy-ing right now, and I think it's far from total precision.

Registered 6 years agoUncharted 2 and Little Big Planet 2 are both very good.
The first PS3 Ratchet is good. As are the other 2 Uncharteds.
Heavy Rain is ok.
Kill zone 2 is arse. -

I wouldn't call Silence Hill 2 an experience game, it is more about environment, atmosphere and uniqueness, freed from the shackles of traditional game storytelling, combat, defeating foes or the usual tropes you would expect from a game. Or at least taking the expected norms of gaming and flipping them on their side to provide a fresh take.
There are games out there that are experience games and are about a Journey but also have gameplay to back it up for example Silent Hill 2.
I doubt people who have played Journey and claim its the best game ever to have played anything other than FIFA and COD.
This is without saying Silent Hill is bad, just different.
Also I would expect Journey players to be those who are open to a wider spectrum of gaming than those who have a very narrow vision of what games must be (i.e. a certain type of gameplay and structure). -

Registered 3 years agoPersonally I think exclusives on the PS3 try push the boundaries more than the other 2 consoles. The PS3 has had a dry last 12 months but the previous 2 years have produced some excellent exclusives. Personal taste aside most of the PS3 exclusives mentioned sold well and are critically acclaimed.
PS: infamous 2 is far from shit, it's my favourite superhero game this gen.

I'd like to lump the original Infamous as a pretty decent game (not played the second), Motorstorm Pacific Rift was bang on as far as an arcade racer goes, and Warhawk was a terrific piece of multiplayer action too.
Oh and Demons Souls was premium.
Loads I haven't done though like MAG and whatnot. -
Sonic CD is not the best Sonic game ever.

I'm not sure they push more boundaries, but Sony definitely had a bit of a purple patch. Long finished now though. I think Journey was there only hit last year.
