This thread was funny when he was a 12 year old who didn't realise when he was being racist, and had only sampled such a little slice of life that he could hang his future happiness on a game he really liked coming out again and again, like his favourite toy or favourite flavour ice cream.

Finding out he's old enough to vote is just depressing.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

If he were 12 he wouldn't have been born when the series hit it's (generally accepted) peak.

Square-Enix makes 6 Billion Yen profit in fiscal 2012

Square Enix's financial results for fiscal 2012 have been posted, and thanks to the releases of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Final Fantasy XIII-2, the developer has ended the year in the black, to the tune of a ¥6.06 billion (or $75.9 million) profit.

All this has made me do is make a mental note to pick up FFXIII-2 sometime soon.

    @elvenscroll

FF13-2 sold about 1.2 million, thats 75% less than FF X-2's 4.5 million.

    I see a decline

I know your doing that to annoy me, but good luck:

What! I haven't played it and the demo seemed ok. Although I would have preferred a third character rather than a pet.

Before playing FF13 and any of its replica's (e.g FF13-2), you should write a Suicide Note while your at it about why you want to kill yourself.

Because the game will make you want to make you put your head inside as donkeys as*hole and suffocate to death

All you do is constantly press the same button and the game plays itself, its basically just a movie with quick time events

You do know it's perfectly acceptable for people to enjoy games you don't, right?

Did you actually read the bit about the huge profits? Massively up from the previous year? You don't like FFXIII. We get it.

Be sensible though. With profits like that do you really think the shareholders will give a shit about this petition?

    Edit:

And constantly press the same button? Seriously? You're doing it wrong.

I found that Final Fantasy 7 was remarkably easy to play by physical attacking your way through the game. Just mashing the x/o button. This meant MP was conserved for after battle healing and money spent on Ether was spent on weapons. I can actually spend some time going through the flaws of the PSone games if you fancy.

The truth hurts, but sometimes you need that pain to wake you up and realise that it's a videogame and maybe you're taking things too seriously.

Don't worry we forgive you, it's an easy mistake to make. Man if I had a quid for every time I made a petition to try and ruin an executive of a games publisher that is in absolutely no way related to me.

Square Enix should be taking note of Xenoblade, rather than looking back at the old Final Fantasies.

Edit - I know Xenoblade has actually borrowed from FFXII considerably, but it's such an amazing package all around.

Indeed, who cares what 15k said when you have another million buying the games.

You're so far in the minority.

I dont see Weaboo's as bad. People can be how they want to be...

japan is a country and not an ethnicity. if your born in japan your japanese, if you have japanese citizenship your japanese.
...yeeeeaaah, perhaps ideally this would be the case. But even if you get documentation showing that you are a Japanese citizen - in itself not a small feat - I'd say a large proportion of Japanese people wouldn't consider you *really* Japanese. Especially if you look different to other Japanese people.

This rarely manifests itself as overt racism or anything (although occasionally it does). But if it's the dream of weeaboos to be treated exactly the same as a native Japanese person, then they should keep dreaming. Or invest in surgery to make them look less white.

I actually checked the site out - currently on 21k sigs. People bemoaning the fact that making games is about making money and crying out for a FFVII remake.

So don't make new games that make money, just remake one they've already played. And sack someone so they can do that.

    Morons.

Exactly. I always find the cries of “More Timesplitters! More Killer Instinct!” rather tiresome, and I imagine the developers would rather go on to make new titles.

If anything, rather than see FF7 remade, I’d rather see Square make PSone era style games as a Final Fantasy spin off (under the long gone Mystic Quest title maybe) as a PSN/XBLA/Steam title. Perfect platform to do that 2D background/3D battle engine game on, and would be completely free of the pressures of giving something like FF7 the full 3D engine uphaul. Also, being a cheaper (you’d assume it’d be on lesser budget) title on a digital platform, people would be less critical of a game that adheres to the slightly antiquated battle style of the PSone games. And yes, cloud360, those PSone games are really showing their age when it comes to the battle engine. Certainly FF7 is.
