People play the Wii-U? Tell me what it was like.

Highly underwhelming. I picked it up, and my immediate reaction was "oooh this is clever". Then I played a little more and the sheen quickly wore off. Great, this pad has a screen - now what?

Loved the Wii U. Controller felt awesome. The screen was a great quality. Rayman legends was inspired totally pissed on Mario U although I did enjoy that. Zelda Blast was great fun as was luigis mansion. Couldn't be bothered to wait for zombie U as it had a 2.5 hr queue. Watched it played though and did look good. The Wonderful 101 and Pikmin were fun too. Amped my enthusiasm for one no end.

I don't know with the wii u I went in to the expo really excited went to the area straight away played Nintendoland (well some of them the console kept turning off the 3rd wiimote so we couldn't play multiplayer) and it was fun but just meh the gamepad didn't grip me and I didn't go back to it for the day and a half I was there maybe I played the wrong games but I think I will wait 6 months see how it goes

It looked like the longest line in the Expo (bar CODBLOPS2, natch).

Long demos are great to download, utterly awful for an event like this.

God of War is God of War correct! I loved the single player , continues its epic scale, which is no bad thing in my book. Alas did not check out the multiplayer so can't comment there.
I was also pleasantly surprised by hit man ( only played it to get the toy lol!) - think it could be quite good.
Really enjoyed all stars battle royale, did think it would be ideally suited to vita , but found the characters to small amidst all the mayhem and watched half of it on the big screen whilst playing it on the vita!
Agree with an above post re Wiiu too. Went into it with not very high expectations but loved the controller , nice and light and comfortable and good screen.
Nintendoland was simple fun, had a go at tekken, which was tucked away in a corner , quite impressive.
Loved wonderful 101 and pikmin 3 , these will be top titles for sure.

Why does almost everyone struggle with the Wii U's name?

Has anyone else noticed that 'gamelegends.com' who ran the big stall selling action figures, statues, lithographs and t-shirts etc don't actually appear to exist? So who were these mysterious imposters advertising a domain name that belongs to an american company who sell custom joysticks?

God of war seemed ok i guess. I mean, its god of war and it does what it says on the tin. Seems solid enough, if a bit over-familiar. It doesnt seem to have a "omg wow" killer new mechanic to really justify yet another installment (this is what? The sixth game now?).
    Fourth.
Sixth. 1, 2, 3, Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, Ascension.
Chains and Ghost are handheld titles that got ported up and were dev'd by another studio. This is the 4th major GoW title for console.

If you're talking about mechanics to justify the game, why would you include well-made but nevertheless cut down versions in your example?

Was anyone else a bit underwhelmed by Sim City. To be fair it looks great, I'm just worried that looks are the only thing that has really changed. I'm sure if I use the same strategy from 15 years ago it will work all the same.

Running a city should be an absolute ball ache, but in Sim City you can just lay a big road without consultations etc.. I want it to be awesome.

Metal Gear Rising is lovely. I'm still freaked out by Raiden, is he, erm, "fully functional and anatomically correct"?

I watched a few people playing ZombieU. The ONLY time they looked at the controller screen was when they were prompted to, by the screen.

So what's the point of it ?

F1 race stars seems fairly fun for what is basically just a mario kart clone. Not sure how well its going to fare though on release. Is it a retail title? If it is, i think theyre in trouble.

Yep, F1 Race Stars is a full title - I asked the bloke on the stand. He told me they have much more varied tracks in the full game, but no power sliding.

You need a hyphen in the URL Game-Legends, it does just redirect to their .DE address though.

Doh, should've tried that. Still, I took a photo of their stand and it's definitely got the wrong domain name plastered all over it, which is a slightly bigger doh.

Another great day today :) Played the rest of the games I wanted to have a go on. Also enjoyed the Prison Architect dev session :) Managed to get the yellow Darwinian I had thrown to me in the third row signed by all three Introversion blokes at the session!

Were there two different Tomb Raider demos at the show? The one I played didn't have a torture porn vibe at all, just a bit of Uncharted style platforming and hunting a deer.

Most disappointing, I had a Kleenex ready and everything!

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

The only potential torture was having to queue up to play it.

Queue wasn't too bad today, and indeed while queuing some helpful assistant pointed out there were a couple free pods next with smaller screens which I hopped over to. To be honest, it's mainly in the audio - I'd watched the demo earlier and not had much of a problem with it, but playing with headphones on all I could think was 'that doesn't sound like our Lara'. Dunno, though, other than the portrayal of Lara, I otherwise enjoyed the demo. Tomb Raiders have always been linear games, so I don't mind that, and the demo had a variety of stuff to do.

I will say though, wounded wildlife in this tomb raider seem to have an awful amount of stamina. After chasing one round with a couple of arrows sticking out of its arse for a couple of minutes, I got bored when I saw it's brother munching on some grass next to me, so I just shot that one in the head instead. Much easier.
