I'm trying to see if Nintendo will resend the verification code to the correct address. If not then I just threw away 11 quid.

    What a twat!

@CharlieStCloud Amazing! Looks like I'll be doing that. Can see a few codes on eBay for a tenner.

Managed to get Nintendo to resend the verification email to the correct address, so Nintendoland is downloading! phew!

Now, next question is do I want need Pikmin and Monster Hunter. MH fans, why do I need this game?

@Armoured_Bear Can't help you there. Sonic has always been a bit of a mystery to me. I've heard people say nice things about that game though.

Pikmin 3 is beautiful, addictive, charming, expertly designed and controls beautifully.
    An absolute must.

The demo of MH3 isn't as helpful as you'd hope, as a big part of it is hunting and gathering to get the parts needed to build your own armour. There's a certain joy in hunting smaller raptor-like carnivores, then working your way up to their chief, then onto even larger monsters as you craft, upgrade and customise your armour. Plus it's the sort of game where you get better at the game itself, reading monsters, knowing the areas and get more comfortable with the flow of combat.

It's not for everyone though, but it has plenty of depth and, if it gets its hooks in you, will last you ages. Still give the demo a try, but keep in mind it throws you in the deep end a bit.

I think for the sake of another 20 quid it probably worth getting both. Realistically it's like buying three games for the price of one.

@DFawkes I did try the demo. I found the controls to be rather odd, but I understand from watching videos of people playing that you can lock the camera? Something I never managed to do and seemed to spend most of my time reset the camera before being steamrolled by the monster.

Am I off the mark here but the battles have a slight PSO boss fight feel to them?

In order of best to the least favourable games out of all ten promotional choices:

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (please don't listen to Raiko and his halfhearted musings!)
    Pikmin 3
Nintendo Land (this is still the best multi-player game for the Wii U)
    New Super Mario Bros. U
The Wonderful 101 (debatable, but it is so bloody good either way)
    Monster Hunter
Game & Wario and Wii Party (they both have their quirks although Wario's game has more charm and character)

    ... *tumbleweed*

    Sonic Lost World
Sonic & Mario at the Winter Games

Congratulations to Mr. Toaster for making his mind up at long last! Enjoy Nintendo Land.

    : )

p.s. See if you have got yourself a 5 activation code 24 hours after downloading the game.

@CharlieStCloud Oh I will have gained a voucher for sure. I've had one already but I had some points left over from Zelda and something else.

If you factor in the credit then it's almost as if you are getting a game for free. Win, win. Fucking love Nintendo at the moment.

@Ceelion Well I don't have anyone else in my house that plays games but I'm buying it for myself with a view to playing with my nieces and nephews on occasion.

It's supposed to be entertaining enough for the single player.

The NES Remixes are excellent. I'd recommend them to anyone who hasn't played any NES classics. I'll be buying Super Mario Bros. and the Legend of Zelda on discount this week.

Absolutely, that's one of the reasons I love it :) The Rathian is fairly similar to the first boss. Same party size in multiplayer too. To be honest I've never really considered them similar before but they definitely do share enough aspects to make me enjoy both.

@DFawkes Well that's enough reason for me to want to play it and get into it. I utterly adore PSO and I always loved the small group/lobby aspect.

Completed NSMBU tis morning. Well, i've yet to try star road and i've only 3 starred the first two worlds, and barely touched the challenges, so still plenty to do.

Decent overall. It's solid mario. Doesn't try anything new, until the last world which is a bit of a disspointment, but the rest of it is, despite solid mario, really well done solid mario. Look forward to seeing what star road world as to offer. Def worth picking up sometime. (7/10)

Personally I thought it was unbelievably crap solo, and barely okay as a multiplayer game.

Not something I would recommend to anyone.

RyanDs is talking shite, it's merits as a single player game may be debatable but it's fantastic in multiplayer, no doubt about it.

Nintendo Land was terrible both singleplayer and multiplayer.

It was ok I only played it for about ten minutes and got bored, the idea of having to run over to your mini game may have seemed a good idea at the time but is just dumb

I enjoyed Nintendo Land. In fact I still do. It's the best mini-game compilation out there and has the most novel use of the Gamepad. You'll get more out of it with friends, though.

You don't, after a short time, you just choose the game.

'The Cat Mario Show' on the eshop has to be the most odd form of advertising ever. Annoying puppets talking about 3D World, it's not even interesting talk.

How many people will own WiiU know how to access the eshop and not own 3D world?

@Sharzam I know my way around the WiiU
entering the eshop I do on daily basis, I do
not yet have 3D world and I enjoyed Kat Mario
Show, maybe it was the Dutch highpitched
voices, but enjoyed every second literally of it,
subscribed to the rest of the episodes, cant
    wait.

I also thought Nintodoland was a bit pants
    on your own

Ecosse. Pro tip. Don't make your self esteem based on nintendo. Someone being mean to a Nintendo game is not an insult at you no matter how tied you are into the fanboyism.

I picked up Nintendoland yesterday and I quite like it. As a single player game it's enjoyable enough but I'm sure it shines as a multiplayer game (not that I've had a chance to play it in a group yet)

It's whimsical and probably not massively noteworthy in the grand scheme of things but I get why it exists. Wii has Wii Sports to show off motion controls and Wii U has this to highlight asynchronous play and in that respect it's successful. I don't regret my purchase, I see it as a game I'll come back to and when I've got folks round even more so.

The Nintendo website is not overly helpful in this scenario, so I thought I'd ask you fine folks on here.

Question: would this external hard drive work for/with the Wii U?

I know I am looking for some kind of technical jargon to make sure it is compatible but annoyingly, I just cannot find this particular piece of information on the Nintendo website.

Ta very much to whoever helps!

    : )

No insult is taken, I just pointed out that your opinion is utterly wrong, utterly at odds with pretty much everyone in this thread's.
It's ok, we're all wrong sometimes.
