Registered 7 years agoThis is pretty bad news for Nintendo. Loving my Wii U and the thought of Rayman this month, Lego City next and Pikmin on the horizon was more than enough to see me through until summer where ill play less games and wait for the big N's next releases, but Rayman becoming multi plat takes off some of the shine of it and leaves the Wii U release schedule dependent on 2 games. One of them from a new team and unknown quantity. Think they are fucked now.

Registered 8 years agoSo the fate of the console now rests upon a Lego GTA clone. You can't make this kind of thing up.Even the toast is a ghost, and your daddy is in the toast!

Registered 11 years agoI don't know what they thought would happen.
While they've been making money hand over fist with dross like Wii Fat, the rest of the industry has been struggling to put bread in their kid's mouths. What made them think that publishers would be scrambling to get games developed that have to be exclusively made with their gimmicky bollocks in mind is beyond me, it's like they've learned nothing.+1 / Like / Tweet this post

Registered 7 years agoThe point is lack of games. Rayman was one of 3 potentially good games on the horizon. There's fuck all else. Big third party games like Tomb Raider and Bioshock arnt even coming to the system. I know what I'd rather play if I had to choose. The Wii U lacks system sellers and Rayman would have helped that. -

Registered 1 year agoIt is pretty shitty and far from a good sign but it's only one game ffs, the fate of the console doesn't rest upon it.
What is a shame is that no matter what Nintendo say they are completely unable to do business with western publishers, they never, ever learn and seem far too stubborn to change. -

Registered 11 years agoDunno if I'd call Rayman a system seller. Wii Fat 2 is about the only thing that will sell it.+1 / Like / Tweet this post

Registered 10 years agoNintendo should have actually got their shit together and launched the thing with a major 1st party release (and I don't mean yet another incarnation of old style Super Mario). Literally one big name would have done it. Even Pikmin 3 would have probably been sufficient, which they've been developing for about a billion years now. -

Registered 9 years agoRayman Legends was always going to be multi-platform, nothing surprising or disappointing about that.
Delaying it until September is a bit silly though. The month when GTA 5 comes out, the start of the Q4 rush, and a time when many people may well be looking forward to the imminent release of the next-gen consoles? Sure, send out your 2D platformer to die, just like the first one did. -

How did Rayman Origins do on PS360?This signature intentionally left blank.

I'm sure this is part of Nintendo's strategy though. The way they see it, there's no reason to bother with a proper system seller (or value for money) when early adopters will snap it up regardless. No doubt they'll cut the price of the console, and release some new games, by the time the next-gen stuff is released.

They're two different audiences though. There's room for both.

Some have. Anything's better than nothing, as far as Nintendo are concerned (they must be making a profit, considering the silly price of the console).
