Registered 6 years agoJust out of interest is anyone running the USB ethernet dongle on the Wii U? If so how are the download speeds using a wired connection?
Just curious to know if the download speeds are anything to do with wireless performance instead of the servers so to speak. I know the difference probably wouldn't be much but would be interesting to find out

Registered 8 years agohttp://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-assassins-creed-3-wii-u-face-offIt's only unfortunate that the frame-rate doesn't quite hold as steady compared to the 360 rendition, being more in the ballpark of the PS3 when chasing down the city streets, and marginally lower during some cut-scenes. This makes it the weakest of the trio in the crucial performance stakes, though they all have issues in achieving a sustained 30FPS where it's needed.

The biggest issue for me is these stupid digital foundry things never ever point out that the 360 is lead console. The engines are created for 360 then ported. That's why the UE is still shoddy on ps3. -

Reading the whole thing I'd actually take the map on second screen and remote play over a few fps myself. I have all three consoles but if I see it cheap I'll pick it up on WiiU as a preference. -

Registered 8 years agoThey say there's about 5 frames per second in it, and that's when it's busy. Plus they say it still looks great, so I think that's pretty good. I'm certainly happy to have it run at 25fps in busy areas in exchange for a map, because I use the map all the time.gif)
That said, having to hold a trigger to change weapon seem a little silly. Surely just stick icons you can tap on screen? Still, maybe they preferred the controls to be consistant when using the Gamepad for main gameplay.

Registered 2 years agoLate, but that "watershed" thing for 18+ is really silly. Should just make the parental controls more flexible and lay the responsibility on the parent rather than affecting those who are actually of age..
Having said that, my sister is buying my nephew a 360 with Black Ops 2, so I can partially see why Nintendo want to bypass the stupidity of the masses.. But still.

Registered 3 years agoYeah, it does seem remarkable stupid. Does it mean that, should an "18+" game get released on the eshop, i'd have to wait until 11pm to be able to buy and download it? Even on release day? That seems mental! I can't imagine they'll stick with it.XBL/ PSN/ Steam/ NNID - MatMan562

Come on, it's always the same. The fact is, the engines are made on one console then ported, look at orange box! The ps3 could piss half life 2 but it was a disgrace.

Speaking of which, you gave me a load of goodies earlier, over 20 handgun bullets, over 10 shotgun shells and a load more and it was right outside a shortcut so I went straight back and saved it all. I now have plenty of stuff in back-up so, thanks!

It's a £300 console made in 2012, it should have no problem running ports better than the 360/PS3 versions despite it not being the lead platform.

Digital Foundry's £300 PC, made with consumer parts, has no problem wiping the floor with the 360/PS3/Wii U when it comes to ports.
