    Still a cake walk then?
Gonna be hooking up my PS3 for the PSN+ goodies at the weekend so gonna get all patched up, guess I'll be creating a new avatar for some hard mode.

Posted from my Nexus 4, not using Tapatalk 4.

Right, I'm miles behind here. What's occurring? Hard mode, or something?

Just spent the last couple of days (!) reading this thread from beginning to end whilst playing. Most enjoyable.

My, now level 37-ish, character has just converted from assassin to sorcerer, on her way to becoming a magick archer, following the advice given here.

I'd like to thank whichever one of the regulars it was who made the post quite early on here pointing out that you can combine items whilst in a storage page. I must have seen and completely ignored this huge time-saving feature!

Just wish I'd picked up the game when it came out, as I could have joined in on all the (PSN) pawn-swapping fun and chat. My mage, Morrigan, has seen some pretty fair use, though. Maybe by some of you guys?

Not tried any of the DLC yet: is any of it worth investing in?

Story-wise, I've just witnessed the duke and duchess having their little...spat...(I intervened) but have not asked Aldous for any quests yet.

@Goodfella We're all different, but the lack of "easy" fast travel in this game is really the whole point. The sense of true adventure you get when the light is dying, your oil is running low, and you think, but are not sure, that those torches over there might just offer a safe spot in which to spend the night, is what makes the game.

As you level up, your stamina will improve hugely and you will be able to run for much longer, which gives the desired shorter travelling time whilst not losing any of the marvellous random encounters that can happen en route.

@Goodfella - I know what you mean (no warping bonfires!) but I found a really good way to play it. Activate a quest and have a look on the map where you need to go, and then go and tool up in the shop with everything that you'll think you'll need and then treat the whole thing as an adventure. I often pick a quest that's miles away in uncharted territory, and just have a blast along the way - hiding in abandoned places at night to avoid the massive fights (or sometimes not for shits and giggles) and then carry on in the morning to your destination, clocking everything on your way.

Takes a bit of getting used to, but it makes the journey just as much fun as the quest itself.

It's brilliant. Without oil, you are completely fucked.

And even better, as you level up and get stronger, the urge to stay outside in the dark gets stronger. Have had some absolutely amazing fights at night. Proper adventures :)

I'm getting this for Christmas. Although I am a handful of hours into Mass Effect, so I'm not sure whether to finish that first or crack on with DD. Nonetheless, looking forward to finally playing it. I'll read back this topic in more detail for info on character builds, etc.

My GotY for sure, I absolutely loved DD so it's nice to see people still picking it up and enjoying it! Really looking forward to heading back to Gransys when the Dark Arisen DLC lands next year, I just hope it's reasonably priced based on how big a chunk of extra content Capcom offer up.

Yeah, I must get back into this again. Uncle Vyrt ill be bored by now :)

If it wasn't for a ridiculously lengthy addiction to dark souls, I'd be on it now!

I did exactly that; put it to one side in order to play Mass Effect 3. Can't help but feel a bit of regret now, looking at the brilliant community that developed here in the first two months of the game being out.

Won't affect you in the same way, so finish whichever one you wish to. Bear in mind that DD is much more of an addictive time-sink than ME could ever hope to be!

It's my GOTY, followed by Journey and ME3 in that order.

@EMarkM - be prepared that if you click with dark souls, you're fucked for hundreds of hours. You might want to play something else first :)

I got this last week and played for a bit today. It's brilliant but seems a bit easy so far. Dunno, maybe I'm still doing tutorial bits.

I take it back about the game being too easy. I got my first quest from the inn and most monsters single shotted me. So there!

Neglected quite a few classes, but they're all so much fun to play. Current plan: level up my assassin vocation, get the autonomy augment, switch back to fighter or mystic knight and solo for a bit. I suppose I can throw my main pawn off a cliff and find her back at the rift if I ever need her again?
