I don't think the PSP had a better battery life, and both Ocarina and this are better looking than anything I've seen on the PSP.

Registered 7 years agoI definitely got at least 4 hours on average on the PSP, lucky to get two and a bit on the 3DS. You're right about this and OoT so i will take the graphics comment back. But to add to it the psp read from a disk and still lasted longer (... Assume that is a bigger drain)Pissy pants.

Registered 11 years agoI was somewhat surprised last week when I went to plug in my DS Lite to charge it and discovered I hadn't unplugged the charger to charge my 3DS in the time since my last DS Lite charge. Although I suppose that says more about how little I use my 3DS than how much I use my DS Lite. That said, I don't own this game yet - am strictly waiting for MK 3DS.
So, for all the carping about battery life I've read here (my own included, I guess) has anyone invested in the many extended battery packs available? I was temped by one of the combined grips and batteries, but it seems that for now they're US only.Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Clone Marios, the SMB3 statue suit, bullet bills with racoon tails, skeletal Bowser... and that's just in the first world. -

Registered 2 years agoI quite like the way the 3D effect is used in Mario and I think it's quite understated. It definitely makes a difference but it's just quite subtle and never too OTT.
I found I hardly ever used it in Zelda but I have it on constantly in Mario.
I've reached world 3-4 now and I'm taking it really slowly. I just don't want the game to end!! The levels may be fairly short but they're just so much fun! Absolutely brilliant game so far! -

Registered 4 years agoThis game is harder than some people seem to suggest. At least for me anyways. I burnt through 48 lives before completing world 8, though I did collect every star coin and hit the top of every flag pole. Some great level design though and its been fun throughout.3DS: 4210 4002 8289 (Dave)

Registered 9 years agoGot my very first game over in one of the special world levels - the music beat platform level. To be honest there are very few tricky levels even on the special worlds (currently on world 6).
I think I'm getting a little burnt out on the game though, might give it a bit of a break before tackling the last three worlds. -

Registered 4 years agoJust when I thought I'd exhausted the content, they went a surprised me with a bunch more. Nintendo are a class act when they want to be.
This will sound slightly stalker-esque but I have been street passing a Eurogamer staff member on my train to Brighton. It's good to see the competitive times for completing levels!
My best on level 1-1 is 48 seconds

Registered 10 years agoThis is much much better than I anticipated. 3d is really spot on and controls are great, 3d doesn't give you any headache control-wise.
Levels are really varied, but perhaps I would have liked to see more those open exploration style levels.
I would definitely pay for DLC levels for this. -

Registered 4 years agoJust starting world 7- have got all coins so far, but the last couple of end levels have been quite tough!
The level of creativity on show is awesome, new concepts with each level etc. I particularly liked collecting each of a line of music notes in order, and realising that it played the Super Mario World (or Smb3, one of them anyway) 1-1 theme. -
This is probably the first game where having the 3D on is a benefit to the gameplay. That sense of depth can make even the toughest platforming section much more achievable.
Although those white-on-white cloud levels in the sky can fuck off, as without shadows it's like playing an Escher painting.
Loving this. I'm only six worlds in, but I'm making sure to three-star everything as I go through. -
