    Chelsea regret Clattenburg incident.

    That makes it ok then.

When is Gary Neville usually on Sky doing his analysis? I know he's often on before the game on a Monday night, but if (like last night) there's no game on, is there no Neville?
He only does the full analysis on Monday Night Football but he's usually in the studio on one of the Sunday games. They sometimes have him as the colour commentator but he's nowhere near as good at it.

Thank you ecureuil, I enjoy his analysis on the Sunday games so will try to make sure I catch him on the Monday Night Football show always too, even if I'm not that interested in the game that follows it!

Just put the ball in the back of the fucking net! My God, at least three decent chances, all of them fluffed. Loads of half decent opportunities lacking a bit of composure. Blergh, hard watching this.

Westwood is looking class again though, Bannan is being hassled quite a lot, sensible management from McDermott in that regard. Yet another one of our players off injured. I honestly thought Baker had done his ankle again too. No fucking luck with injuries at the moment.

Really dull game this, even the goal was as dull and straightforward as they come.

If it wins the game, I'm happy.

Going to start a rumour about Bent having an affair with Lambert's missus. Probably true.

Not really sure what you were expecting considering it's such a high pressure match.

Very pleased to have the victory, it would have been really unfortunate to lose this game after the progress that has been made in the last five games. From a completely biased Villa perspective we were the better side and deserved to win.

Roberts is a beast though, very impressed with him today but I think it says a lot about Baker and Clark that he didn't really get that many chances despite his good play otherwise.

Was glad Roberts went off before the end as he always looks dangerous. Ireland did well when he came on. Guzan is looking like a top keeper too. Westwood has to be one of the finds of the season. Considering Powell went for big money, surprised no-one saw this guys talent too, except for Lambert!

I know, I was expecting a dull match. Sounds like the QPR-Sunderland game (With even more pressure on QPR and perhaps Sunderland) was even worse.

Only 13k turned up at Sunderland tonight? Can't blame the ones who stayed away. They make Stoke look like Spain at the moment.

I really think Chelsea should release the details of what actually happened. Poor Clattenburg has been dragged through the mud over this. If it is as per the rumour that he used the phrase "enough money business" then he should sue the fuck out of them for defamation. It would have taken five seconds to work out there waas no racist intent, and no need whatsoever to report him to the FA.

Heh, Sagna and Walcott not in our 2013 calendar.

    See ya.
  • Deleted user 28 November 2012 09:43:02
I'd actually really like us to get Walcott.

I heard it was '... I dont give a monkeys' but, yeah, the point remains.

In all truth, I think clartenburg has come out of this quite well. He has handled it with dignity, chelsea look like arseholes and everyone has forgotten that he is a ref with at least one massive gaff in him.

Platini considering scrapping the UEFA Cup and putting the top seven into the CL.

I'm split on this. On the one hand it makes the CL even more of a joke than it is and devalues the competition further. On the other it gets rid of the ridiculous UEFA Cup and spreads the CL money around a bit more, meaning the top teams become less of a self-fulfilling cycle.

On balance, it's better than the current situation, but still not the best solution possible.

They'd have to start it as a straight knockout competition though and do away with the group stages, otherwise it would be another increase in the amount of games. Or maybe that's their thinking behind the idea.

My view on Bent has not changed one iota. I love the idea of Liverpool buying him.
I really can't see it happening. Despite his shortcomings it would've made sense last year, but with Rodgers' system, a player like Bent really wouldn't fit.

Tbh we need players who can play all three front positions, not a goalhanging striker. That's why the Walcott move would make sense (not that i believe it'll happen though.)
Really? We seem to have a bevvy of players who can dance around on the edge of the box, but absolutely no-one to poke it to.

its going to end up like the euros. Loads of shit teams suddenly parachuted in, so what was once a great competition will suddenly have several months worth of shit that no one watches until the quarters.

Also, how the fuck are they going to play that many games? They will have to play CL games two or three times a week unless there are a billion groups, further diluting the talent pool.

I am pleased they are at least looking at the problem, I had assumed nothing was going to happen at all. They should still bring back the cup winners cup too!
  • Deleted user 28 November 2012 10:37:03
So top four and cup winners? Sounds good to me.
