That's true, although I've cut my AC playing down to 10 to 15 min a day to ensure that I've still plenty to do in it come autumn and winter.

Didn't realise Mario Golf has been delayed until next year now :/ Was hankering for a Camelot sports game, and apparently Mario Tennis Open is pretty weak.

Yeah, too bad about the Mario Golf delay. On the other hand, there's so much 3ds goodness available right now that I doubt I'd find the time to play it.

The core gameplay of Mario Tennis is very good but there are far too few modes and options. Online works well but again it doesn't have enough going on. Still, I see from my 3ds log that I put 20 hours into it. Ace level is really difficult so I play exhibition matches now and again. I haven't won yet. It's a classic '7' score wise, if you know what I mean.

Mario golf appears to have far more modes and features, so I'm optimistic.

I'm going to grab Tennis anyway, I do like the games.

I'd put money on the reason for the Golf delay being a schedule thing, not development. There's just so many great 3DS games this year, another one might get lost.

The way the accounts are set-up on 3DS means if you lose your console you lose all your downloaded content too.

Pro-tip: Don't buy digital from Nintendo.

You can get the stuff back, I'm hoping they'll have a proper account system later.
I lose the tiny carts anyway.

I didn't mind that Mario Tennis was quite bare bones. A tour mode would have definitely bulked out the game somewhat, but it didn't bother me too much. It's still enjoyable to play.

My complaint lies with the fact that you can hit the ball perfectly from the ground. That is to say, if you're serving, your opponent can return the ball from the very point it hits the ground. It allows for a greater than usual returning angle and, if done right, can send your serving opponent out of the court for their next shot.

There was a tiny Japanese Nintendo direct last night where they released Flipnote studio 3d. It's coming out in the UK August 1st

My 3ds xl has started turning itself off while in sleep mode on a semi regular basis. It switched off twice today even though the battery was nearly full. I also had to redo the date and time settings.

Anyone else had issues like this ? And should I get in touch with nintendo ?

@gooner77 Could be a dodgy battery, how long have you had it? If you've only had it a short while that would be my first thought, if you've had it since launch of the XL and used it very regularly you could find your battery has run its course.

@YenRug I've only had it since April. I've contacted Nintendo to see what they say, waiting to hear back.

The other thing I'm worried about is that I've bought a few digital games for it so if that goes then I've lost about 7 games.

    Bloody Nintendo :(

No you haven't. If it can be repaired they'll repair it for you. If it needs replacing, they can transfer your games forward. It's completely stupid, but your games wont be lost!

just a heads up Proffessor layton is a mere 15 quid on amazon.

Took my 3ds to london on the weekend, had no steetpasses :(, didn't take it any where except when hopping places to stay at different peoples houses. A lot of coins though :)

I've actually got a nice short route between my house and a local Sainsbury's in which I seem to street pass between 2-5 people. Mostly people i've street passed before, but a new one pops in every now and then. It's got me taking my 3DS out of the house more often now!

Best places in London I've found for streetpasses are the bus stop outside the V&A back in to central London, and Earl's Court when the expo's on. I suppose this new streetpass relay might make stations a better bet, though I assume it just relays the last person though before you become the next person to be relayed, so you'll only ever get one pass from it at a time.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

Just heard from Amazon that the new Harvest Moon game release has been delayed until mid September. It wouldn't be a proper HM release without at least a couple of lengthy delays!

Is there a delay on streetpasses? The only two I've got so far have appeared after I've gotten home and waited around a while, when I'm 99% confident nobody with a 3DS has wandered past my house...

Also is there a weird saxophone notification tone?

There shouldn't be any kind of delay. At best 20 - 30 seconds. For what it's worth though, i've picked up a few street passes simply by leaving my 3DS on stand-by at home.

ONM scored the new streetpass games as follows:

    Streetpass Garden - 55
    Streetpass Squad - 76
    Streetpass Battle - 60
    Streetpass Mansion - 85

Streepass Squad seems a bit easy and Streetpass Mansion is pretty tough.

Hometown Story, a new game from the creator of Harvest Moon looks interesting. You play a shop keeper in a village who interacts with characters and hears their life stories. Seems like a story based blend of AC and HM. Sounds like a flawed but interesting idea.
