My backlog is getting out of control

NSMB Wii (about 2/3rd of the way through)
    Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles
God of War Collection (about halfway through GoW1 - currently playing this)
    InFamous
    Demon's Souls
    Forza 3
    Darksiders
    Bioshock 2
    Uncharted 1
    Uncharted 2
Resident Evil 5 (Pro playthrough + DLC)

That's just off the top of my head, plus with Heavy Rain this week (no chance I'm not getting that on release) and Final Fantasy XIII in less than two (as much as its sounding less and less like I'll enjoy it, I'll still get it because its Final Fantasy and I'm an idiot), plus God of War 3 later in March....think I'll get through those three, then polish off the rest, and try not to buy Splinter Cell or Red Dead Redemption til later

Also reminds me how much money I'd save if I just played through them and wait to buy games later and cheaper...

Oh arse. My list was just 360, PS3 and the one DS game I could think off. If I look through what I bought during the Steam sales you can triple that list. Fuck.

Oh for fucking fuck sake I just looked at it again this morning and the fucking thing just gets bigger.

Just not able to get the will to pick up anything these days. I know I should be starting on GTA IV and something else.
You go on like it's a job or important work that has to be done, if you don't want to play a game, then don't.
Not really the problem I want to play just don't know what the fuck to start on next.

\o/ One more gone off the list. Oblivion done and dusted.

    RPGS:

    Fallout 3
    Blue Dragon
    Lost Odyssey
    Too Human

    Other:
    Ass Creed II
    Batman AA
    GTA IV

Starting to get a little more manageable now but fuck me the RPGs really need a good clearing out.

So I am planning on starting a RPG + Other

I am thinking Blue Dragon + Ass Creed II

Or is that just too monumental a task?

still got some Dreamcast & N64 games to work through, particularly MDK2 & Jet Force Gemini; never mind the XBox, 360 & PS3 pile......

ACII and Batman AA sounds like a far yummier combo, but then you'd be stuck with those damn RPGs. ACII is my game of the last year.

Alternatively, make things harder on yourself by getting BF:BC2 and play little else for some weeks. :)

Tempting as that sounds it will in no way help the situation :D

I am thinking the two I have chosen because from what I have read combined they come in at around 100 hours.

Also loved the first Ass Creed so it will be a welcome distraction from the inevitable Blue Dragon grinding.

    Here's a solution - sell all your RPGs and buy BF:BC2! It's win-win!

Sounds like you should be reading the 'combating game buying addiction' thread, or whatever it's really called - the 'recent forum activity' tab on the profile seems to have been updated with EG forum search technology :/

How about no? I spent the better part of half of last year mopping up the entire Call of Duty series, The Orange Box, ODST etc. I need a break from shooting things in the face.

Shit, I'm in the middle of Blue Dragon, just started Silent Hill Wii, have Little King's Story, Ratchet and Clank:CiT and Fable II on the pile and today GoW III, Heave Rain and Muramasa come through the door....
Do what I did a while back and just don't buy any new games. Much cheaper to pick them up later on.

The other advantage is it's easier to pick up ones you know you will like because there will have been so many reviews and opinions written about them by the time you get to them.

Indeed, it's just fighting the "want-shiny-new-thing" lunacy
It eventually gets better but I still have the odd lapse. In general though it works quite well.

Best advice is to pick 2 games at a time and finish them and just wait at least 2-3 montsh for new releases to hit the magic £24.99.

I had sonic kart racing in my hand a few weeks back ina shop at 39.99 but resisted, now its 24.99 at Zavvi and shoudl be £20 anytime soon.

Plus if you have a game thats still unfinished after a year chances are you never really wanted it anyway.

Fit to fucking break something tonight.
Got as far as Memory Sequence 5 in Assassins Creed II

Turned on console tonight to pick up where I left off and my fucking game is gone.
The kids were at the 360 today and managed to fucking erase the fucking game. Christ.

And this is why children shouldn't be allowed to play with the grown up toys.

I know but they have their own games too. Every now and again they will play some of mine in this case it was the eldest and he just pressed the wrong button. The session selection screen and whole save management is daft in the game anyway. He showed me this morning what happened and believe me I could see how easy it was to do it.

Ah well 5 fucking hours of gaming down the tubes. Good job I am really liking the game otherwise it would have gone into the same, 'I just couldn't be arsed', pile as Stranglehold and Bionic Commando.
